More of these and Apple fanboys won't be able to complain about "bloatware" of Android devices without being hypocritical.

This is awesome - a better homekit experience will be great. More deeply embedding this in a way that makes it easier for people to use will finally push the automated home forward.

I've been wanting this for quite a while, but if they introduce this I really hope it's not iOS only, and has a Mac and even tvOS counterpart. I'm sick of having to find my phone in order to perform a quick and simple task that my MacBook is more than capable of performing...
My hope is for a tvOS app as well, it would make my life simpler being able to use the Siri Remote to control devices and not have to grab my phone from the charger.

Sadly, Apple has fallen far behind the curve with this. They offer no interface which leaves you wondering what Siri is or is not compatible with and frankly, they support very few devices with their stringent standards. Smart Things, Amazon Echo, etc. are miles ahead of them right now for this very reason.

You're on the ropes Apple. You NEED to start listening to your customers.

You already lost Pro users that kept you alive during the pre-iPhone years.

Your sales says that smartphone users are going elsewhere and I don't blame them. Going elsewhere gets you:

Fully functional virtual assistant.
Fully functional and accurate Maps directions.
Fully functional cloud based Photos app that just works, with automatic face recognition, albums, and geotagging.
Fully functional music service that blends with your personal files without a bunch of work arounds or hoopla.
Default apps
Easier to use inter-app operability.
Delete of unwanted apps, especially apps that haven't had new features since 1.0

I could go on, but you get the point.

I'm exciting for Homekit, but I'm also not because I know that Apple will barely update the app and will wait 1 whole year to add new features, if any, as an iOS udpate instead of add features as they become available.

I have a Nest thermostat, a Ring camera and security doorbell and Ring security backdoor camera. I don't even think Apple support those. So whats the point of this app right now? So we are made to buy Apple specifically supported products. Not a general support for existing products out there.
