Why? Just because you experienced a bug doesn't mean everybody will.

My gf has had similar issues with various settings changing for no reason. You're not alone.

I just noticed today that with my 6S on 10.2.1 that many of my Mail notification settings were changed without input from me.

I didn't reinstall stuff. Things like Whatsapp banking app system sound settings reddit login gmail accounts settings got reset

Something is wrong for sure!

The only setting bug I've had/noticed on ios10 is background app refresh turning itself back on for all the apps that I had turned off .. but that was on very early release versions of ios10

Similar thing here. General>Spotlight Search>Search Results all toggles were magically put to "On". I had like 2 or 3 of the toggles "on" prior to updating to 10.3 public beta 3. I had a majority of the toggles off because it helps TREMENDOUSLY with battery life so your iPhone isn't indexing EVERY SINGLE THING. Hope these phantom settings resets are resolved.

Yeah I've been signed off from most of my apps that require logins very strange!

If you haven't yet, I'd try rebooting the phone. Then I might try a complete reset. Then I might try restoring the phone.

Yep I rebooted and hard reset the phone things are better but monitoring still

My 7 is doing this too. It also started showing me the what's new splash screen when I launched Photos and Music. It acted like it was the first time I ever launched them. Very weird and annoying.

I have been experiencing this now for a few days. iOS 10.2.1. Phone is prompting me as if this is a new phone or it has been reset. Neither are true for my 7 Plus.

Issue is not limited to iOS settings but also some 1st and 3rd party apps.
  • Open iMessage and prompted with the "What's New in Messages" screen.
  • Prompted to enable automatic downloads in Settings -> Itunes & App Stores
  • For every contact, I am prompted to enable Read Receipts in iMessage.
  • Music ... No longer have music stored locally. All show cloud download icon.
  • Logged out of some, not all, 3rd Party apps. Doesn't appear to be coincidence that so many happened at the same time. E.g. Slickdeals, Panera, HomeDepot, YouTube, Facebook, etc
    • Not impacted apps ... Pandora, NextDoor,

I also experienced some changes that were spontaneous

-prompted to ask send "read" receipts
-phone started vibrating when it has always been on silent
-battery percentage randomly disappeared

And who knows what else I'll find out. It first occurred yesterday for me.

Thoughts?

Forgot about the battery percentage disappearing. That was my first sign something happened.

Still have not found an explanation for this reset behavior.

This is happening to me too on my iPhone 7 Plus running 10.2.1. I didn't make any changes on my own, and noticed the battery percentage disappear and my email started doing vibrating alerts every couple seconds.

Does this recur after you fixed anything? This just happened to me as well.

Maybe that CIA stuff from wikileaks
