Is such a huge improvement from beta 1. My phone could barely last 15 hours and past two days I got 36 hours standby followed by 32 hours with 8% left. Standby time is really good. only lost 2% overnight which is great for me

On 6s standby is great, usage not so great. I think I am getting an average of about 2 hrs less usage on PB 2. At the end of the day I have about 15% battery left while on iOS 9 I had 30 or 40%.
I haven't done any real tests though, just my observation.

Mine has been utter ****. It might have something to do with the Podcast app...I listen to them all day at work and my phone was dead by 11:30am....I woke up at 6...

My standby time has been phenomenal. Went to bed last night with 89% and woke up this morning with 87%.

I just reset all settings after seeing peoples great results... I used to just do clean installs but I don't want to loose my Health data now that I have an App Watch (I don't like restoring from a backup...doesn't make since if your having issues as it just might bring back the problem...perhaps this is dated and I'm stuck in my ways)

Battery life has been worse for me with PB 2 than PB 1. I've also noticed that when charging with an in-car charger even though the indicator says 100% the "Time Since Last Full Charge" bit in settings is blank, and telling me that this info will be there after the battery is fully charged.

Battery life on PB1 and 2 has been pretty damn close to iOS 9.3.2.

My beta battery life has been unchanged from iOS9 from what I can tell?

On Beta 3, I have had terrible battery life, standby included. I've done everything I can think of to try and fix it but to no avail.

Watch goes dead in about 6-7 hrs. Phone just drains on standby. Gets warm in my pocket. Unfortunately the Battery stats are of no help at all in diagnosing the issue.

Same with my 6s. If I'm using my phone a lot throughout the day, my battery goes down very quickly. However, if I leave it alone, then standby time is fantastic. It still doesn't come close to competing with my SE on iOS 9.3.3 though.

My iphone 6 128 gig is often very hot. Having 52k of iCloud pictures and all the continual analysis that involves now is what I would blame. Can't be sure though, since clearing my battery usage stats in PB1 they have never come back.

My pictures when uploaded to the iCloud accounted for 106Gigs of data, and now my Photos on the iPhone account for 38gigs of space. The 'deep learning' is fun (I have about 1000 pictures with cats in them I now know) but it seems beyond a certain size anything that even touches the Photos data now causes the spawning of processes that are very CPU and power intensive and take quite a bit of time to complete.

Mine was fine until today, where I lost 70% of my battery in 1 or 2 hours, and it was losing charge even while plugged in. I'm attributing it to a random beta glitch. I've reset it and turned it to airplane mode and it seems to be charging okay, but I couldn't figure out what was burning all that battery.

Just do an encrypted backup in iTunes. If you have to restore you won't lose your health data.

That's assuming you restore from a backup. I like to setup as a new phone. Restoring from an enycpted backup could potentially bring back the issue that you restored for in the first place...however that just might be old habits

Photo app has a new feature called 'Facial Recognition'. It will be scanning for facial recognition during charging and of course this will get your CPU to run quite hot. Just wait until it finish doing the task, it will be back to normal later on.

I'm not sure but I don't think there is a way to disable it. It was designed to run only when the phone is being charge, so it should give minimal impact to battery. It is also running in the background so it should not interfere with the user's experience.

It should definitely have an option to turn it off come final build. I dont want facial recognition on my iphone or in my Photos on MacOs. On one of them I can already turn it off..

I am not sure of how the public beta 2 and developer beta 3 line up, but with the developer beta 2 battery life was awful and beta 3 is great.

May I know why you do not want the feature to be enabled? I think it is a great feature although I admit that it is a bit creepy.

    1. I will never use it, and I'm sure a high percentage of users will never use it/wont even know it's there.

Everything else stems from first point.

    2. May introduce new bugs
    3. May slow down charging
    4. Like you said, I find it extremely creepy :)

I cannot seem to resolve my battery issues. Stanby is the issue. It is affecting my iPhone 6s and Watch together.

Usage stat is way above normal. Way too close to the standby numbers. It is draining as if being used, and I can't get over it.

I'm afraid a restore and setup as new is my only option.

On my 6s+, the battery last longer than PB1. It's back to how it was before I installed IOS 10 beta.
