Home button and swipe up lag are as good as gone.

The phone is snappier than ever before.

And the battery life is as good as I have ever seen with an iPhone 7. Overnight battery drain after the OTA update (and charging for a while post that and then taking out the charged) was 1%.

iPhone 7 (low power mode is NOT on), 91% after 1hr 20min usage and approx 8+ hrs standby.

The other device is my iPad Pro 10.5 Cellular with WiFi on and cellular isn’t switched off either.

Well my battery life on my iPhone 7 wasn’t as good on iOS 10.3.3 as it is on iOS 11.0.1. My battery life on my iPad Pro 10.5 might have been better on iOS 10.3.2 perhaps though.

I can tell a difference. On monday I had to charge my phone 3 times get through the day. Just once today.

iOS 11.01 has fixed the battery issues on my iPhone 6s.
:)
currently the only issue is that the phone is (still) doing a re-doing the Faces folder in Photos that the iOS update triggers.
the phone must be connected to power and locked (not in use) for this Faces sync to take place.
i have 14,000+ photos and it is taking over 6 hours to do this with only about 60% done still.

There are certainly improvements on my SE from the GM I had installed previously.

I'll update a 5S over the weekend and see if thats improved too.

I agree, it is the same on my SE.

I did a lot safari and twitter last evening after update. A bit YouTube and mail.

I still had over 60% battery this morning. The runtime is fantastic compared with previous versions on the SE. A full day without charging is possible for me.

Thought it had - used it last night in bed, 5S did 1 hour and 10 minutes for first 10% - this was all 100% actual usage.

Now, it's 58% with 2 hour and 20 minutes... and feels like I have barely used it.

Shame my iOS10 backup got corrupted - currently weighing up whether to just screw it and go 10.3.3 set up as new, and try to preserve as much as I can with iBackupbot to create a relatively complete backup.

can you share the way you updated?
DFU mode?
simple restore?
iTunes simple update?
set up as new?
OTA?

thanks

Same here...I've noticed quite a significant improvement in battery life; I'd go as far as to say it's back to how it was on iOS 10.

For iPhone 7, iOS 11 GM as an iTunes Restore and then iCloud restore for backup. And then iOS 11.0.1 OTA.

On my SE the battery life is absolutely great, it wasn’t even that good when i bought it.

I was on 10.3.3 and directly updated to 11.0.1 ota. No battery problems.

I had problems with the original 11, because of that i went back to 10.3.3.

But now everything is fine.

Wow. I was going to ignore this patch since I don’t use Exchange right now.

But if this fixes the anoying lags and proves battery life, that’s an instant download. Thanks for the heads-up.

Any idea on why Apple didn’t mention it? Because it would acknowledge embarrassing issues with the .0 release? Or are these improvements psychosomatic?

Think I am getting the same. Only 3D touch lag slightly exists. Same with you?

Me too. Before 11.0.1, my phone would have already lost 15% based on my activity this morning. Right now, it is still at 100%, which is how it used to perform. I won't know for sure for a couple days, but this looks promising.

Is battery performance same as in 10.3.3?

I would say very close or maybe bit better now, Battery for me was worst in betas , got better in GM but still worse than 10.3.3.

11.0.1 is huge improvement in battery, still bit stuttery but manageable, on GM i would be 70% by now but right now on 85%.

usage 2hr 10 min
standby 7 hr 26min

7plus.

Naysayers like radon will just have to believe those of us reporting same or better battery performance on iOS 11.0.1 That is certainly the case across all my personal devices that include an iPhone 6, iPhone 7 Plus and a 2017 iPad. Truly excellent results in terms of battery life and performance. In all cases they were upgraded to iOS 11 GM with a full ipsw in iTunes (on a Mac hold option key down then click on Check for Update to preserve data and settings followed by selecting the appropriate ipsw) and then an OTA to 11.0.1. No issues with any of the devices and like a said excellent battery life and performance.

Hmm didnt know it had to be connected to power and locked for this sync to take place? Is there something I should do to enable the sync or will it do this on its own?

I dont have that many photos of people / faces but those that I have seemed to have synced, a few might be missing but most are there.
