Do you need a wikipedia page on how software numbering works? The same reason we don't have 11.1.6 - 11.1.x through infinity. It just means there's more substantial changes but not enough to justify a jump to 11.3.

I suggest that 11.2.2/3/4 will be small updates with no beta need, and more important changes would be find un 11.2.5

My point was that there were no iOS 11.2.2-11.2.4 releases... But apparently you cannot read between the lines. :) I am aware of that the next small iOS 11.2.x updates doesn't need beta-state and iOS 11.2.5 will be the next "bigger" update (maybe) before 11.3. ;)

Stickied this thread.

iOS 11.2.1 to iOS 11.2.5 beta is strange. Not sure I ever recall seeing that before, but I forget.

Probably some non-beta bug fix updates coming between now and iOS 11.2.5 public release indeed.

Can someone check if they introduced network activity indicator on iPhone X in this update?

What happened to 11.2.2, 11.2.3 and 11.2.4?

Sounds like what's probably is going on is that there's a branch of known things that Apple watch to address in iOS 11.2 that they have already started working on probably even before 11.2 came out, and then there are things that have popped up since 11.2 release (like the HomeKit issue, for example) that they need to patch earlier and essentially separately, for which they would need a bug fix release as well. So they are likely leaving themselves some room for some patch releases like that and designating their next known planned bug fix release as 11.2.5 so they can work on that while any other potential patches can come out if needed without interfering with the version numbering. Some software developers do this kind of thing, like Oracle with Java, for example.

In a sense 11.2.5 is probably what 11.2.1 would normally be, while today's release is more like an unplanned patch that's more along the lines of 11.2.0.1, but since that's not the version numbering system that Apple uses for iOS we basically end up with something like 11.2.5.
