iOS 11.2 BETA + Honda/Acura Bluetooth ?

Anybody using iOS 11.2 and using it with a recent vintage Honda or Acura Bluetooth?

We started complaining about this in the early releases of iOS 11, but there evidently weren't enough of us complaining for them to make a fix a priority.

Apple employees in Cupertino say that they have had some luck with their own cars if they set up their iPhone as a new device instead of restoring the new iPhone from a backup, but for those of us in the field this is not a 100% reliable solution.

Can any beta tester confirm that iOS 11.2 is looking better than previous versions of iOS 11 with operability in our Honda/Acura vehicles?

It's not Honda's fault...Apple is the one that changed, and Apple knows it. It's just a matter of when, and how irritated we will become waiting for the fix.

Symptoms:

* Receiver of call might not hear you
* You might hear static
* In extreme cases, other end hears only static
* Contacts will not populate, so voice commands over HondaLink or AcuraLink useless
* Names will not populate over recent call list
* Using SIRI to place call results in private call instead of Bluetooth call

These symptoms exist to varying extents across both marques and all models from about 2012 - 2018.

I have the same issue with my 14 Lexus GS.

Lexus told me there is nothing they can do.

Been having problem with Subaru's system as well since iOS 11.

The good 'ol "no, no, no, it's everyone else's responsibility to make sure we don't break APIs and existing functionality" Apple approach.

Haven't had any issues on my 2015 Accord EX-L. Bluetooth has been working fine since beta 1. Now on 11.2 beta 2.

No major issues with my 2017 Accord EX (Android Auto / CarPlay equipped).

Did not have a problem before; in fact... at all. I don't think I ever experienced what you describe, ever since I had the car. I am running 11.2 Beta and it worked just fine on my 6s until yesterday and keeps working fine on my X today (X is also running 11.2 B2).

Note that I do NOT sync contacts to my car as I never ever use car voice commands. The only thing I do is invoke Siri through Siri Eyes Free and give voice commands to my phone.

There is one small issue that I have noticed with 11.2 B2: my Podcasting app will start playing (resume) as I get into the car and drive but then within 5 or so seconds after it starts, it will pause itself and then resume playing again. Happens only once. I originally thought it was the podcast app but it appears like other podcast apps have seen this problem too (I use iCatcher but have heard of people using Overcast also having a problem). It does not happen with Music, though? But this issue is minor and requires no intervention.

Oh man! I can get my Toyota Yaris to work with iOS 11.1.1 on my 7 Plus for calls/music/etc but not with my V30 for music (calls only). I'm scared to move to iOS 11.2 beta because I need this device to work.

do not have a honda but i have had issues with 11.2 beta 2 with bmw media system. i can play my media fine but my phone will not show up on the media screen. i had to go back 11.1.1.

Have you asked the people you are talking to whether the call is clear? Frequently my callers will sound clear on my end but muddy on their end.

Without someone telling me I would’ve never known I was having bluetooth issues.

iPhone X (AT&T) with IOS 11.1.1 having the contacts disappear like others but would also like to add that occasionally I will dial a number and while ringing it will sound strange. When party answers they sound like an underwater alien so I hang up and redial and call is clear. Bluetooth issue.
