And its Apples fault you decided to change your battery yourself? Pretty well known that anytime you do work yourself on your phone that you'll be on your own...
I never said that it was Apple's fault.
I just wanted to change the battery for 35$ (in canada) since my phone is slower and shutdowns by itself.
If I knew, I wouldn't have change it back in time, but my phone was already 2years old.

Got my reply on when I can expect my battery.

iPhone 6 Plus batteries currently have a longer lead time because this iPhone is no longer being manufactured. Replacement batteries will be available in late March/early April. We apologize for the wait time, but the Apple Store will let you know as soon as the battery arrives so you can get your battery replaced.

The Apple Store will hold your battery for 7 days after it is received by the store. A Genius Bar reservation will not be required to complete service.

Funny that I am able to set up a Genius Bar reservation for my 6 Plus replacement but it is actually an iPhone 6 replacement (once you finish the reservation).

Can confirm. I'm over this company.

IMHO, Apple's only mistake was not being more open about what they were doing earlier, and not giving iPhone owners the choice to disable this feature. They announced they will do so in the next iOS version, and they're sharply discounting battery replacements. These actions seem like a very satisfactory response.

If Apple were intentionally diminishing older iPhone's performance to incentivize upgrades, 2-year-old iPhones would be hard to sell. In fact, though, there's a thriving market for older iPhones. I've had no trouble selling my older iPhones on eBay and have always gotten a very good price. My wife doesn't upgrade as often as me; she finally just got an iPhone 7 after using her iPhone 5 since January 2013. Her iPhone 5 always worked great, even when it was 4 years old and even without a battery replacement.

I know there are people with older iPhones that have legitimate issues. But there are many millions of older iPhones still in service. If just 1% of them were having legitimate issues and making noise, that would be a lot of noise.

Is there any tests or videos out there to show that the throttling was visibly noticeable by the user? Didn't this only come about when a benchmark showed that the phone was running slower (and benchmarks aren't reliable for real life usage)?

The fact that Apple knew about this issue via their power management and a battery fixes the issue. You would think they would have more stock of the battery?

Unless, they didn't reveal with to anyone, hoping customers would just purchase the next model.

I'm starting to get there myself. This isn't the same Apple that I grew up with.
Agreed! Mac OS X used to be solid! I used to be proud. I have a Mac, it's always working, doesn't crash, apps just work. Not anymore. It a pile of tosh!

Same for iOS11.

The point that I think sucks - I have 7 days once they tell me the battery is available. I live over 100km from that Apple Store and don't regularly visit London. I'll now have to (on short notice) plan a trip to London to get the repair done.

If I would have went today to pick up the phone that a family member wanted, I could have had a battery -- for an iPhone 6. I can't believe they are setting people up for repair with the incorrect battery.
