This feature will not work in the USA for the reason that (1) the GPS in smartphones made since ~2011 use data from both the USA satellites (GPS) and the Russian satellites (GLONASS) and (2) FCC regulations prohibit the use of Russian data for the purpose of 911. Here is a copy of my report on this subject which includes links to documents online at the FCC's website.

"I've fallen and I can't get up" without an additional subscription? That could be great for those who want or need such devices AND have an iPhone too.

I stated something similar using an Apple Watch. Many elderly get injured severely from a fall.

As you’ve stated some of those specific devices with ADT make he call when pressing a button. Yet an WatchOS app tha auto detects a sudden call can auto make the call along with sudden drop or spike in heart rate with a countdown timer to reject the call if done inadvertently. The bonus in my summary thought up hypothetical app is if the elderly or disabled person fell and was unconscious help can be on the way. Plus medical records detailed. Any health concerns to treatment restrictions (medication being prescribed or allergies to medication) is present like a medical bracelet. Along with contacting the closest relegate via iMessage email or sms or all.

That’s he key with such a great technology and with this emergency accuracy boom many lives saved. This is no joke.
