So the fact that an update downgrades a devices functionality even if it going to be discontinued is okay?

It is not ok from customer perspective for sure. But it is apparent that Apple does not care and think “this is natural”.

Even though I have a 6s, I would like to be able to use the sleep/wake button to launch the Wallet app like on the X.

I just want a bug free iOS, please.
A totally smooth and functional iCloud sync.
Wouldn’t mind more functions added either.
iOS11 have not been good to me this far :(

If you were given treats for a year and then they were stopped how would you feel? I would have reconsidered my purchase of iPhone X had Apple not slowed down the home button. My 7 Plus was an excellent phone on iOS 10 and on iOS 11 it feels like an average mid range phone with the battery life and delays.

Well, if they really only give me treats for a year, I would consider that treat a little surprise, just like a discount during Christmas. The fact that your aforementioned slow down is barely noticeable even intense use (I need to login to 6 games per day to keep my daily bonus on point) means the delay is more to the self awareness side than a real bug that needs immediate fix.

Don’t add any new features, just make it run smoothly on my $1000 iPad Pro which i’d have never bought if I knew how poorly iOS 11 would make it run.

It would be nice if software updates would download automatically in the background like on android...

You will never get a bug free OS from anyone ever.

Not saying the iOS ever will be bug free for everyone, but at least for me next time ;)

I can accept bugs. What I cannot accept is to have an upgrade degrade my use or enjoyment of a device.

Curious. Can you check if your 7 Plus is heating up when browsing Safari. I removed my 7 Plus from my case and when I use it naked, the area near the Apple logo gets uncomfortably warm when browsing through safari.

Agree, some nice small bugs I could live with. Depending on what it is of course.
But having iCloud sync not working across devices as I have now, is taking away real fundamentals on iOS today.
I'm having a case with Apple, see how it will work out this week?

It gets a little warm if the web pages are graphic or advert heavy.
Where I generally notice heat is near the buttons, both sides. That could be me as I have a leather (vaja.com) skin on the back of my 7+.

Between High Sierra on my rMB and iOS 11 on my 7+ and IPP 12, I am finding the functionality and consequentially use, has degraded.
Still, I have work I need to get done so I slog through or find ways around the issues (like opportunistically plugging in whenever possible to get around the battery issue).

    Current result:
    1) First year I have not upgraded my iPhone since the 4/4S (skipped the 4S)
    2) Realistically looking at alternative hardware solutions - Android/Windows?

Glad I haven't upgraded to High Sierra, would probably got a lot of **** going if I had

No, Apple time is for now to wait to upgrade, until .4 or .5
That's what I will do in future. Apple are pushed in a bigger way of their competitors that they were earlier.
So they compromise their quality unfortunately to get unfinished stuff out.

Not looking for other hardware solutions here. I'm too stuck in the  eco system. I still have more patience.

But I hope that  will hopefully get their **** together when they don't have to put a lot of energy on the building of ApplePark.

Just give us basic weather on the lock screen. I mean really already. I just want to raise and see it.

Just angle your phone away from your face then back to your face and it should try again.
