This is an awful experience. iOS 11 is way too buggy. Clash Royale lags when you set your brightness to zero. With this brightness setting, I managed to make the whole OS laggy. Animations were running with like 10 FPS. The more I kept pulling down the Control Center, the laggier the OS got. Then it got frozen for a few minutes, and a respring happened. While the OS was laggy, I made a Geekbench test, and the results were more than shocking.

Just before you ask, no, the phone wasn't in a power saving mode, it was on charger. Only reboot fixed the HORRIBLE lag. I was able to reproduce this WHOLE STORY. Only on X.

Restore as new using iTunes and don’t use a backup.. I’d say your OS has something corrupted and needs a fresh install. My X has been blazing fast and smooth as could be and that’s how I set mine up when I got it

I have already done that after I got it, and after I experienced this issue. Nothing is fixed. I reproduced this issue with my classmate's X too. 64GB model, both.

Classmate's phone hasn't this app installed. Also, it would not be logical, in my opinion, that an app bug makes the app lag when I set the brightness to zero. It's just doesnt make sense. What would be more logical is that it's a driver issue, or a kernel problem. Again, for me, its more logical, while not being an experienced developer. Also another interesting thing is that after i turn on recording, the lag goes away IMMEDIATELY.

Same even on beta 11.2.5 the whole os is laggy especially swipping between pages of apps, a phone this high speced is running terrible but if we moan on this forum people get upset lol

Finally, someone with my opinion!

Wow, the single score seems like for a 5S and multi-core like 7. Hopefully, you are not using low power mode. Did you restore backup? Are you using iCloud for backup or iTunes?

To rule out corruption with iOS or backup. Backup before trying this. You can try DFU mode (https://www.imore.com/iphone-x-and-iphone-8-how-reboot-reset-or-enter-dfu-mode) to restore and set device as new. Retest with Geekbench. Resync with backup using iCloud or restore backup using iTunes. Retest Geekbench. If you get a lower score after backup, it could be corrupted.

Hi,

I never use Low Power Mode. I also never use any backups. Tried to reinstall using DFU and set the device as new, the issue still persists, if I reproduce the steps. After a reboot, the Geekbench score goes back to the normal.

To get a better idea, you should download CPU DasherX which will show the actual CPU clock frequency. For X, max clock is 2390 while base clock is 2064 (resting)

yeah this i dont understand.i also check on my X on cpu dasherX app and same score.this should not the clock at this low cause our X is capable of 2.39ghz not 2.06ghz thats why we get alot hiccups

Butter smooth on latest ios11 and blazing fast for me and my fiancè. Gotta be something with you and your buddy. Everyone I know has had zero issues with their ipX. If you read on here, you'd swear the device was garbage. SMH

hey man i know it says max frequency is 2.39ghz but i never got that speed i only get 2.37ghz and 2.06 on resting

You’ll never get the max clock even when you try to load an intensive app. The max I’ve ever gotten was 2375. Either the X iOS might be designed differently than the others since the older device matches respective their own max clock.

maybe on ios 11.2.5 we can get that max speed.i felt that the X is laggy because we only get 2.06ghz not even close to iphone 7 2.35ghz

Mines actually not laggy at all. The only time I actually felt a lag is when battery hits 1%. I also noticed when waking up the device and unlocking it with Face ID it would clock at 2376 then it will drops to 2064. Currently, the latest beta showing otherwise but still early to know if the final build will keep it at 2390 though.

i meant not really lag but not smooth either.yeah also when i activate multitasking like swipe up i can get 2.376ghz for a glance and swith back to 2.06ghz,if it stays 2.39ghz like on swiping in the homescreen it probably really smooth.when it get a little hot its really aggresive to stop charging like right now im using the phone while on the safari

So you’re saying benchmark tests run slower when the CPU is already running at nearly 100% on other tasks?

Next thing you’ll be telling us glass breaks when dropped from 5 feet.

This frame rate drop and phone running silly slow thingy happened to me yesterday, but it was at 1% low power mode, playing audio over bluetooth while browsing the net. Died about a minute later.

I have same issue especially when playing Clash Royale. Sometimes my iPhone X runs really laggy.

Anyone has an Idea how to completely delete alle iCloud Backup (calendars, contacts etc) ?? So that there is absolutely nothing anymore in the iCloud?

Settings>User>iCloud>Turn off selected sync and then select remove from iPhone if prompt appears
To clear backup in the iCloud storage, at the top there is "Manage Storage" select and delete data only if you want to permanently delete from iCloud

As soon as Apple makes iOS 11 "stable" people here will be jumping on iOS 12 beta to complain about it.
