My iPad Air 2 is running fine with iOS 11, performance and battery is OK. Opening Apps on my iPhone 6 Plus is extremely slow compared to iOS 10.3.3 and battery around 20% weaker.
iPad Air 2 and 6 Plus are running much better on 11.1 beta 1.

6 Plus sped up a lot. Still needs some tweaking, but much better than 11.01. By time beta is over, should be real good.

Yeah, that's a good description. I'll probably stick with iOS 11 in the hopes it gets better, but it's a mixed bag so far.

It's actually a tough call. (Though it isn't like this is going to keep me up at night or anything, LOL.) I really like the new dock. So right now the Air 2 is back on 10.3.3 and the Mini 4 is on 11.0.1, which I admit is probably backwards...

That's interesting and good news. It's also sort of what you'd expect, but that hasn't always panned out with new iOS releases, or has sometimes taken most of a year to work out.

It's laggy already on A9/A9X devices, of course it will be even worst on A8/A8X devices. And also iOS 11 is designed ONLY for iPhone 8, iPad Pro 2017 and incoming iPhone X.. All devices that IS NOT A11/A10 X will perform SLOWER.

Where did you get your "ONLY for ..." information from? If not an informed, reputable source, why would you assume that?

11 on my air2. It's been perfect. It's faster and battery life has been as good or better than on 10.3.3

I did mine OTA.

Nope. Not my experience. How did you come to this sweeping conclusion and based on what? Just curious.

In terms of stutter, 11.1 Beta 3 is looking to be an improvement on my Air 2. I just loaded it and did a restart and it's looking pretty smooth. Haven't had a chance to check out functionality that I found problematic in Beta 2, e.g. Bluetooth connectivity dropouts. But the performance improvement is promising.

My iPad Air 2 was running noticeably slower on iOS 11. I downgraded to iOS 10.3.3.
Haven't had the heart to upgrade my iPhone 6, SE from iOS 10 either.

My iPhone 8 plus blazes on iOS 11 tough. Its the fastest computing device I've owned ever.

Battery in my iPad Air 2 and iPhone both took a hit with iOS 11
iPad Air2 is running things ok, but it's eating battery, on 11.0.3

But my iPhone SE on 11.1 beta 3 is performance strong, with new emojis too :p

What is not working since 11 is iCloud syncing with Calendars.
Only real problem :(

I suggest to update, the new Dock and multitasking alone are worth it. It works very well.

The iPad Air 2 is like the iPad 2. It will last a while with its 3 cores.
So True, until iOS 12 finally kill both iPad Air 2 and Mini 4 and the remaining A8/A8X devices. As i observe iOS 11 is the last update for both iPhone 5S and iPad Mini 2 because they are still 1.3 Ghz just like the iPhone 5. While newer phones have 1.4Ghz processor and above.

It can certainly be the last update for those devices, but it wouldn't necessarily be because of some 0.1 GHz difference in CPU speed, but more about a collection of different things.

RAM would be the answer not MHz.

Mini 4 and air 2 both have 2gb just like the se,6s,7,8 and 2017 ipad so will be supported
