There was another one, aside from the one with voice over and only getting access to contacts and photos on a one-by-one basis essentially?Looks like the two password bypass bugs were also addressed in this update.
Yeah there was another one with quicklook. Both are listed in their security document as well. There was another one, aside from the one with voice over and only getting access to contacts and photos on a one-by-one basis essentially?
Or perhaps simply that the fix isn't in this update. No fix on the reception issues it looks like. More evidence of it being a hardware issue.
They just started the outreach last week. It will take a least 2-3 weeks to take in that information. Let alone fix it.No fix on the reception issues it looks like. More evidence of it being a hardware issue.

There's a possibility it could be a variety of things. This particular uodate not having a fix for it isn't really an indicator of anything in particular one way or another. Hopefully they'll address it sooner rather than later, and hopefully it's just a matter of a software/carrier level update.Mmm... I gotta say that if it were a software issue they'd have probably been able to pin it down by now and would have pushed it out with this update. I'm not saying they can't do something via software to make it better, but there is the def possibility that like the iPhone X in Japan which had secretly updated hardware this year to fix the Suica LTE problem, that we could be seeing a very minor tweak hardware wise for the XS and XS MAX.
Could be wrong, but it doesn't seem good. I hope I'm wrong though.
I'm still holding off to by until we know what happens and I really hope they can get things sorted via software.

Seems like they are certainly investigating: https://www.macrumors.com/2018/10/03/iphone-xs-lte-connectivity-apple-investigation/Well the clock is ticking. Even making a statement of them acknowledging the issue and they’re investigating the cause of it. I have noticed people replace the device and the new one work as it should. But I don’t know if that’s consistent or not. Apple keeping quiet about it doesn’t make them look good. It’s better to be honest.
No. The build number is the trailing three (sometimes four) digits. It almost looks like it is base 16 though? If that is the case then 404 - 366 = 9E or 158 Base 10
So ... 158 versions then.
I updated my iPhone Xs Max, my wifes iPhone Xs and our iPad Pro 12-inch 2.Gen and the results according to our Ubiquiti UniFi-controller is basically the same. We have 2x Ubiquiti UniFi AC HD (Qualcomm-Atheros QCA9994 chipset) access points and the results are pretty consistent.
The issue with iPhone Xs and Xs Max isn't throughput. Its fully capable of maintaining great 802.11ac RX and TX rates when located in short proximity of the access points. Speed test also verifies that its fully capable of using our 500/500 mbit bandwidth. There are no real issues there.
But the signal strength is disturbing even when located in close proximity. In my computer room sitting just 1 meter from the Access Point it's reporting a signal strength of 79% (-59 dBm). Our HomePod in the same room is reporting 99% (-47 dBm) and the HomePod in the hallway a few meters away is reporting 97% (-52 dBm). My Apple Watch Series 4 is reporting 84% (-43 dBm) but the Apple Watch doesn't seem to be supporting 5.0GHz so it's connected using 802.11n on 2.4GHz with 40Hz channel width and not to the 802.11ac on 5.0GHz with 80Hz channel width.
It becomes worse when you start moving away from the access points. The iPhone Xs and Xs Max drops the signal quality and strength much more rapidly than any other device which is being confirmed by the UniFi-controller.
It's not that much of a problem as we have stellar coverage at home with 2x UniFi AC HD access points. But at work for instance with a single Aerohive Access Point I notice that my iPhone Xs Max keeps dropping the connection when moving towards the toilet and coffee area of the work space. My iPhone X would lose connection when entering the toilet at times, but my iPhone Xs Max is dropping it consistently.
It's the same for LTE/4G, during my daily commute my iPhone X would sometimes drop connection, especially through tunnels while on the train. But my iPhone Xs Max is dropping it consistently when going through the tunnel, without exception where my iPhone X would do it seldomly. I also notice that it seems to fall back to 3G a lot more compared to the iPhone X.
HEALTH APP bug still present. Need to close and relaunch the health app or change to another date and back for data to be updated (steps, flights climbed, etc). So annoying.
Have you reported this to Apple?Assistive Touch button still disappears after syncing with iTunes or restart. Under Settings, it still shows to be On, so you have to manually switch it Off and then back On again. This bug started with iOS12 and still present in 12.0.1. Probably not many people use it including Apple engineers and testers so missed it.
Just an update on this issue.I updated my wife’s iPhone 6 Plus to 12.01 and now Settings icon shows 1 update?
Just going to leave it be, but odd that it shows an update is available.
