I get the sending back part, but who's to say the bugs weren't squashed? Seems to be a backward looking nomenclature scheme, not forward looking.
I never said they were not addressed, but you can't say they were because it is unknown. Regardless, a single build being sent back 6 times is rather high, especially for beta 4. That's not a positive thing.

This is new

Things feel quite solid thus far on my little ol’ iPad Mini 4…I’ll update as things/issues progress and present themselves. Still downloading on the iPhone.

EDIT: Updated on my iPhone; running just as smoothly thus far and although I did encounter one small wifi hiccup soon after installation all seems fine now.

I agree, but then they'd look like Flipboard and News Republic. It's especially bad when you put all of them in the same folder.
Or like the new Slack icon and Google app/Assistant

I'd rather they have it nice instead of looking out for other apps (not saying they were)

I literally just updated to beta 3, then for some reason I went and clicked on software update again, and then there was beta 4. We will see how this goes on my XS Max

iPhone XS Max modem version 1.04.28. Also, the about screen sections looks to have been further tweaked from beta 3.
