iOS 12.2 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

My phone has been stuck on Update Requested for over 16 hours now. I can't seem to interrupt the process to force it to restart/requeue. I tried rebooting with no effect.

I'm traveling until Thursday, so can't just connect to my Mac and download that way.

Still crashing for me on iPad, iPhone and MBA .


@Applesupport Found a temporary workaround for the #iOS122 #AppleNews app crash: 1⃣ Open the news app. 2⃣ Immediately switch to the News+ tab. 3⃣ Once the News+ tab fully loads, you can switch back to the Today tab and the app works without crashing. I’ve made a DFU restore , I set my phone like new , I installed app by app .. I don’t have photos or other contents to to index .. it is strange .. I think that apple is literally too lost .. me as well

Music playback controls stay on the Lock screen no matter what unless you turn off "Allow notifications" and turn it on again. Playing with the appearance settings for Music app notifications doesn't help.

I have done DFU and over the air. If I try to benchmark or something the first day or so, I will always conclude "it sucks".

After a few days though, I do the same benchmarks, and the phone is stellar.

Your mileage may vary ...

I just updated OTA and not seeing any of that behavior on my max. No answers for what's wrong with yours but i wouldn't blame the update

Not seeing much of a change to existing bugs.
I am noticing a greater than normal reload on launch for apps in the task manager.

One item in Apple News ...
I bring up trending stories. Under each story is a time stamp that says how old the story is. When I open the actual story, the time stamp is much older. Wonder what this time stamp in AN is based on.
The For You does not match what I read at all ...

I'll play with it a bit more but ...

Same here on my iPad.

I’ve done it all, reboot, hard reset, resetting network settings and still stuck on update requested.

Downloading iTunes now on PC to try to solve this.

Does anyone know how to get this fixed?
 
Xs max here and it was few first hours laggy and some part unresponsive. Now it seems it has settled as I rarely experience any lag.
 
New firmware for AirPods 6.3.2 !

IPP ... getting a strange bug while watching video. YouTube, Spectrum TV, Netflix, ...
The app plays and then suddenly everything freezes for just a few seconds, then picks up right where it should.
Trying now on my 8+ to see if it acts the same....

Did not see this under B6.
 
Anyone having trouble with CarPlay? Now my Xs won't work in my 2019 Jeep Cherokee😕 Reset settings on phone still no go. I am using official Apple USB cable. Two non-Apple wouldn't work either. I'll try my spouses phone when she gets home later.

Update: It is working now. I reset my iPhone, but what a pain to have to work my settings all over again.
