iOS 12 Beta 11 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

There have been no details as to the expansion outside of Northern CA until launch.

Having experienced it first hand during a trip there a couple of weeks ago, I’m really missing the details. You can check out my notes in the Maps thread.

still does it on ios 12, my games will lag badly when it hits 1%. doesnt bother me, gives me time to exit my stuff and finish up before it dies
 
His beta is definitely snappier on my 8 plus and the last couple have already been flying

Wouldn’t hurt for sure. More times they get it the more likely they will take a better look at it

Can confirm that OpenVPN is working correctly. Not sure which of the two resolved it between pb 9 or the update from the App Store but it does indeed work.

Can anyone explain why I keep getting this notification even though you can see I’m on the newest beta version.

These last two betas have been phenomenal on my X. I haven't messed with the new Siri app yet. As you can see, I'm not even sure of the name. haha. But if it's been updated to match the performance of this beta, I'll be so happy! I'm hoping it's just that much simpler!

It used to do this and then was removed from an earlier beta, so seems it may be added again?

Someone said that double vibrate = fast charging. You still get a single for regular charging.
 
I see a few UI glitches here and there. But, apart from that is rock solid. We should be getting the GM next week. Apple might sneak one more beta before that.

Amen!

3D Touch has been an obscure power user feature for hard to find features and a gimmick for easy to find features.

And it’s resulted in phones with smaller batteries, that are heavier and as you said, thicker because of this (compare the 7 and 6s with the 6).

It’s hard to imagine that this was the major feature of the iPhone 6s series and that tens of minutes were spent in demoing this onstage!

Importantly, like many others on thread have said, I think that Apple wants to make the iOS experience on the iPad and iPhone, consistent and that can’t be done if one device has 3D Touch and then other doesn’t but had stylus support.

From a supply chain POV, I’d assume that Apple want to get into the place where by 2019 all of their iOS devices are using the same LED and OLED screen parts.

iPhone SE (DD) here.

So, I only got on board with iOS 12 beta with Public Beta 8, and, while it seemed slightly faster/more responsive, it wasn't a big deal.

Beta 9 is as if they added the code to speed things up, as if it wasn't there before, I mean, everything is noticeably faster and smoother.

Apps load much faster, it acts more like my iPhone 7 did than an SE!😀 ...I only have one app not working, and it's an inconsequential app. If I had app issues I might have gone back to iOS 11.

Only issue so far, voice memos disappeared, which is fine, they are backed up in iTunes, I don't need to keep them all in my phone, in fact, I didn't realize how much space they took up, so, I have lots more free space in my iPhone. (Mentioning this so ppl know to backup before updating)

Can you open up the rich notification by long pressing notifications on non-3DT devices or is the only way still to swipe left and tap View?

This might seem like a minor point but swipe and tapping View always sucked on my iPhone 6 and now they’ve added ANOTHER option - Manage - to that swipe menu, it looks a bit messy to me.

Given Apple have just added the ability to have interactive rich notifications in iOS 12, it’s a shame that that feature feels buried. At least with 3D Touch you can get to it quickly and nicely (if you know how!)

I hope they revisit little things like that too if dropping 3D Touch

Completely disagree with you here. I use 3D Touch every single day, usually every single time I pick up my phone. To say its a gimmick is just not true. IF you don't use it or like it then fine, but to say it's obscure and a power user ONLY feature is incorrect.
