iOS 12 Beta 5 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

Too bad that there is no Coconut for windows. I cannot check my battery health since iOS 12 bc I have an iFixit battery and it doesn’t work with apps like Battery Life anymore.

Yes you folks in the UK have a different and improved application compared to the worldwide app. The worldwide app is the one that crashes, the UK one works fine.

Yes, the UK app has no issues. Just the worldwide app crashes again (was the case with beta1).

It‘s not, showed up for me this morning. I have DnD off in settings (also schedule turned off) and only enabled it in the clock app under bedtime settings. Works like a charm ever since beta 1.


Also: the stocks app widget does now show 2 entries instead of just one.

The 3D touch haptic feedback and animation on app icons seems different (smoother/more poppy) than previous betas. Can anyone confirm?

It did appear to me this morning as well, but i noticed that it’s behavior changed. Now it appears when I stop the alarm. Prior to beta 5, the weather widget would also appear when dismissing the alert of DnD during bedtime.

Anyone notice with beta 4 and beta 5 albums from Apple Music split up into two separate albums which are suppose to be one album.

For example best of Aldo Nova. (For example track 2, 8, 13, 14 and 15 are in separate album)

I reported this bug to Apple on beta 4.

Is this beta ok for daily use? There are any groundbrakeing features? I use my phone for youtube and some social media mainly...will I see a downgrade in quality from iOS 11?

IMO this beta has been quite solid on my iPhone x. Battery is ok. No big bug. And overall smoother.

Someone may have already mentioned but News has some UI changes: new icons and subtle tweaks to the layout. They finally changed that hideous Spotlight icon!

Also haptics are broken on the PIN screen and on the keyboard for me, and it’s VERY annoying.

Thank god! It was very annoying trying to use my phone and it just wouldn’t wake up.

This was driving me crazy until I realized you can just tell siri to raise the brightness.

Screen time is messed up to me.
On beta 4 my wife suddenly disappeared from family under screen time, and only my daughter was left. Under iCloud settings and iTunes,my wife is there.
I removed here from family and added here again, but she still don’t show up in screen time.
This was not a problem in beta 1,2 and 3.
Also, no data is showing on my daughter.
