Downloading IOS 12 as we speak. Beta was great hoping this may even improve over the beta...

I like the Time | Day | Date in the Status Bar. & the similar swipes to the iPhone X.

But there's one swipe that doesn't line up...
The secondary swipe-up from the App Switcher screen needs to take you back to Home, as it does on the iPhone X.

Currently, it does nothing, which means you either need to tap on the background or four-finger pinch to go Home from the App Switcher screen

For both the iPhone & iPad to be in sync, this swipe-up gesture should be added.

I really love iOS 12 this far.

Let’s see if iOS can be a good iOS again.
iOS 11 was worst ever. Still having issues because of it.
Maybe not nightmares, but minor traumas ;)

Had to google to find the controll center on iPad tonight though.
New swipes comes, and old goes. Not bad though.

Date and time in the menubar is good, when we’re in an app.
Had to close many times to look at my calendar icon to get the date earlier.
One less minor thing that saves some seconds. Totally awesome.

I’m impressed, although 2 items that they were talking about was Group FaceTime and Waze doesn’t seem to work as originally advertised. Group FaceTime not working or I don’t know how to use and Waze for car play not sending screen to car radio... Maybe next update!

Pretty good so far, but the control center in the top right corner is pretty ridiculous.i liked the previous version a lot more.

Actually what I find ridiculous about the control center is that even a couple of generations later in its existence one still has to dumpster dive into Settings to get into Bluetooth pairing or network settings to connect to specific networks. It wouldn’t take much for Apple to redirect long presses of icons in CC or add the ability to add Settings shortcuts to it.

You mean like 3D Touch on the iPhone's Settings App?

It's why I never want to see 3D Touch disappear. I use it frequently in many Apps.

I wouldn’t know, my daily driver phone is not an iPhone. My primary iOS device is a 2017 iPad Pro 12.9.

All I do know is that on an iPad long pressing the WiFi and Bluetooth icons in Control Center is of very limited use. All it does is expand that portion of the Control Center and give you Airdrop and Hotspot toggles which could have easily been allowed to be in Control Center to begin with. Wasted opportunity to provide additional functionality IMO. On my Android device short pressing WiFi or Bluetooth in the quickshade pulldown toggles them off/on while long pressing takes me straight to the settings screens for both so that I can pick a network or Bluetooth device to work with.

Apologies. I feel your frustrations - they were similar to mine until Apple decided to introduce 3D Touch, which I like to compare to keyboard shortcuts...very efficient way of navigating IOS.

Let's hope they bring it to iPad soon...they may do so, but in the form of "Haptic Touch" which has replaced 3D Touch on the XR (& rumoured to replace it on all future iPhones).

Well i just watched this guys take on IOS 12 and his ipad pro because i was curious
from what i can see its a huge step back going from 11 to 12 for us .
Doesn't apple test there software for usability?
Multitasking was easy open app side by side in ios 12 its a disaster to try do this.
Also you could get to the control center easy to. when i watch the video it feels like we have to take 2 steps back .
Im not going to upgrade to 12 if they do not fix this .

Seems like that guy is making a big deal out of nothing, or rather he’s complaining just to complain. I’ve never seen him before but him saying that he only makes videos to rant about things tells me that he isn’t happy about a lot of things. Dunno.

There’s a reason that Apple made these changes. It’s so we can memorize one basic set of gestures across our iOS devices, instead of one set for our phones (like it’s been until now since the X came out) and another for our iPads. Multitasking is just as easy as before. Just need to get used to the new gesture for the iPad and it’ll become second nature. As far as control center goes....how often does one really need to access it? For me it’s pretty seldom, so I don’t view the swipe from top to be that big of an issue. It’s just matching the X now is all. As far as his suggestion to have it swipe from bottom right hand side....lets say Apple does that. Then he’s going to complain that you have to pay too much attention to where you swipe up from....if you don’t then you get control center when you really wanted the dock and vice versa. See what I mean?

The guy is hilarious. He’s rambling about iOS first and then about how there is inconsistencies in the colour of the Apple stickers in the boxes of some products.

The empty can rattles the most.

Group FaceTime was temporarily removed in an earlier beta. Apparently it will be reinstated on iOS 12.1.

My iPad doesn’t even give me the option of downloading to 12. It keeps telling me I’m up to date.

Make sure you are not already running 12 then, restart the iPad etc. What model do you have?
