Holy crap, with my recent Internet connection upgrade the full restore IPSW image takes less time to download than it takes to install. 8)
For some reason the last two builds have taken forever to download. It's on a 600Mbps connection, but the last two builds have taken 20+ minutes each for some reaosn.

Huh. I wonder if you're getting a different download server than I am? I just pinged mine out of curiosity, it's only 9ms away. It easily saturated my 150mbps for a solid 22MBytes/sec. (Comcast overprovisions a bit to quiet the "I'm not getting my full speed!" complainers)

I know Apple uses several CDN services and that many ISPs host Apple and other companies' CDN servers on their own networks for better performance and efficiency.

That's what I'm guessing yeah. That said I do MacOS betas as well and that comes pretty close to maxing out my download.

How to find out one’s download server ip ?

The exposure logging section is now locked out, in the US at least

How to find out one’s download server ip ?

When I downloaded it from the Developer site the URL contained the server:

updates-http.cdn-apple.com

so I just pinged that. With both IPv4 and IPv6 it's about 9ms away. It probably uses anycast though, so it may be a different machine/location depending on what network you're on.

What are the chances of these posts becoming useful? They go live but don’t actually contain meaningful information that isn’t already available. The comments don’t actually highlight what’s different - I don’t really care that you’re installing it on your wife’s college roommate’s landlord’s iPhone 7.

I hear you, but in this particular thread, I cannot find a single „installing it on my whoever’s phone“ posting...

Public beta is not out yet, is it? Last week it was available pretty soon after the dev beta (an hour if I remember correctly).
