Hey

Is anyone having problems with Siri in the car? Since updating I can no longer use either the Siri button or the button on my wheel to invoke Siri to request things while in the car.

When I press to invoke it takes 5 seconds for the Siri noise and then just cancels and music comes back on.

Worked like a charm with iOS 12.

Just using a Bluetooth connection, no CarPlay.

any ideas?

I’m having problems with Siri in the car. I can’t hear Siri talk when connected to my car Bluetooth.

There seems to be volume problems. When using TomTom the voice is super quiet. But if music is playing that is at normal volume and if a route instruction comes through while music then that too is normal.

Also no contacts are syncing on our 2016 Lexus NX (which has an awful ‘infotainment’ system anyway. It’s 2019 Lexus. There was no excuse to not have CarPlay)

Going to try 13.1.1 see if it makes any difference. It does mention Siri albeit for iPhone 11.

Got to the bottom of my problem.
Basically when pressing my Siri button it would previously make the Siri noise and I’d start speaking and so I was waiting for this noise. I tried speaking as soon as I pressed the Siri button and it works as it always did.
Not sure if this is a change with the software or a glitch, however, I’m sorted now!

13.1.2 doesn't solve my issue of not being able to hear Siri when connected to my car bluetooth.

Having the same issue on my car. I ask "Hey Siri" and I see it working on my phone but no sound at all on the car speakers. iOS13 is totally useless.

Call me negative, but I feel like there’s always issues with car Bluetooth every year. Was the same last year with 12...

Think I’m going to call Apple. Since upgrading to 13.1.3 car Bluetooth is useless. I can’t even get DND while driving working.

I made time to pair an iPhone 5S running 12.4.1 and Siri worked flawlessly, as did volume, response time, DND while driving etc.

Same problems with Siri here. Can't use Siri Eyes Free in my 2017 BMW. Press the button to initiate Siri and you can see the phone activate but Siri can't hear you.

Worse for me though is that something changed is broken in IOS 13 such that the text messages no longer show the name of the person but only their number. I wiped the phone and went back to 12.4.2 and names appeared again. Went to 13.1.3 (and prior) and names disappeared. So frustrating and dangerous since I have to unlock the phone to see who sent the message.

i noticed it worked the best 13.1.1 and all 13 beta’s...13.1.3 has been difficult using Siri!

Loaded iOS 13.2 PB3 last night and my Siri is back to normal, with all car functionality restored too.

Yes this seems to have been fine and then not fine. Hope 13.2 fixes this for good.
