Anyone here with iOS 13 beta installed on their iPhone? Apparently there's a feature called "Persistent Personal Hotspot". I've been waiting for something like this on iOS for a very long time. So far all of the data points to the fact that it'll work perfectly with iOS devices. What about Android? If an Android device connects to an iPhone or iPad with iOS 13 with the "Persistent Personal Hotspot", is it still going to maintain connection with an iPhone/iPad when it goes to sleep?

It’s pretty good so far for me. I too have been waiting for something just like this too.

I can only find “ Personal hotspot “ - nothing to do with Persistent.

Just recently, the personal hotspot cannot even last long enough for me to download a 600MB file, let alone “persistent”. Beta 5. That is a connection from cellular iPhone to cellular iPad. Hopefully iOS 13 GM performs better in this regard. And, one major reason I almost never connect Personal Hotspot using Wifi, unless I have no other option. USB Ethernet is much better.

How are people’s experiences with persistent hotspot now?

My persistent hotspot is not very persistent, which is very annoying. In fact, I just lost the connection on my iPad Pro after receiving a phone call on my iPhone, despite the fact the devices were sitting right next to each other.

Hardware:
iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 13.0 beta 8
iPad Pro 10.5, iPadOS 13.0 beta 8

Dreadful. I've not been able to get a single connection to my iPhone from my MacBook since iOS13. I'm away on holiday next week and I'm going to need this so I hope that 13.1 fixes it.

Can anyone confirm if persistent hotspot available on iPhone 6S’s iOS 13?

My thinking is some iOS 13 features won’t make it to the old 6S.

what’s the difference compared to instant hotspot that was on iOS 12
The difference that I have seen is, that when my hotspotted devices go to sleep, hotspot does not drop. I like this feature when I'm constantly picking up those devices and they need to be connected, but at the same time, I don't like it because I need to remember to disconnect them or disable hotspot on my main device, or it will never disconnect. Instant Hotspot still works the same for me as it did in iOS 12.
