Hello, fellow iPhone-users. A little bit of venting here...

Just got my iPhone 11, but the whole experience is so frustrating. Installing my apps and setting up my phone, and I'm finding one bug after the other - I'm talking about Apple's own apps btw.

What the hell happened to quality control and bug testing?

Music doesn't display artist category, and shows albums as individual songs (each song a separate album). Music is a bloody MESS.
In Mail I can't move an email from one mailbox to another, either Mail refuses or it crashes.
Etc..etc...

Yet another sloppy upgrade from Apple, why am I surprised. Already starting to regret not getting a Samsung, which I nearly did. :(

That’s odd. Both of the things you’ve highlighted work perfectly fine for me

Hmmmm. I’m not having those issues either. Maybe when 13.1 is released on the 24th those will be fixed for you.

OK, thanks for the input. Probably an issue with having different types of mailboxes in Mail (or number of emails), and possibly more albums (224) in Music. Must be different kinds of variables triggering these bugs. Music is pretty much unusable for me atm. Disappointing that Apple doesn't properly bug test basic app functions like these, hopefully it will get fixed quickly.

Return your iPhone, get your money back, buy a Samsung.

Problem solved.

Aside from whatever Apple does internally, I've been a beta tester for a long time now. Aside from a few issues in Mail (but not including what you mentioned), iOS 13 has been very stable and bug free in my testing. In fact, even from beta 1 it was more stable than the majority of earlier first iOS betas I've experienced yet. And 13.1 has fixed every issue I've seen, though most of it was already fixed by 13.0. When I reported an issue, it was quickly fixed, or an engineer would contact me for more info before fixing it. Overall a great process and there's definitely quality control before release. But the list of possible configurations grows endlessly, and testing everything is not just hard, but literally impossible. Though I'm sure they have a lot of tests they run internally, but Unit, UI and isolation testing.

When testing the beta 13.0 had a lot of bugs. 13.1 is a lot better in most of the beta testers opinion. That is released to the general public on tuesday

Running Beta iPad OS and experience little issues. However, first time experienced iOS 13 on my 1phone 11 today and it was really buggy. It is the worst iOS release day experience I have seen on an iPhone. Experienced issues with some stock apps crashing first few times opened. One app wouldn't work as said location settings were turned off when they were not. Had problems with call volume when connected to my bluetooth car system. Probably more but you get the picture. Looking forward to iOS 13.1 release.

Sorry to hijack, and am on an X

But, iOS 13 is first upgrade I have ever had issues with. Rebooted twice.

I am usually the one hearing other users complain while my upgrade went flawless.

My main issue is slow internet connectivity no matter where I am. Wifi or Cellular.

Many Web Pages and Links within them take a long time to load.

Will wait for 13.1 till I delve deeper into it.

I know my iPhone is not an 11 and I haven't seen this issue mentioned. So, I thought I would just toss it in.

Thanks for the input. I have to say that otherwise iOS 13 has a lot of useful functions and updates. Also, great to finally update my iPhone 6s to 11. :)

I agree, love darkmode and swipe keyboard. Used that type of keyboard on my Galaxy S4 a long time ago. Don't remember if I had be rooted or not. But, Apple's works great.

You're just the type of person who should be in the public betas.
Need people who can find issues

That said haven't seen the issues you're reporting even in 13.0 late betas.

Maybe 13.1 will be better for you before you return for that Samsung

Thanks for the comments, and sorry for the initial hyperbole - just one of those days I guess...

I was able to get all of my 224 albums into the Music app, but I had to only import a few albums (max 4-5) at a time (from one artist folder at a time) - and then do it twice. The second time the albums were properly imported. I later remembered I had similar issues, when adding albums to the Music app on my 6s about a year ago (can't remember exactly when). So this is a bug that has been around for a long time.

Anyways, really happy with the iPhone 11. This is a much more useful and flexible phone than my 6s. I got the regular iPhone 11 specifically because of the screen size, which is perfect for my needs. Comparing the 11 and 11 Pro side by side in a local shop, the 11 Pro screen definitely has more natural colours (didn't notice that big difference between the previous generation) - but in day to day use the regular 11 screen looks fine to me - and this time Apple priced their new product reasonably IMO.

Enjoy your new and shiny iPhone 11s. :)

My Podcasts icons are mixed with my Music icons. My keyboard is more likely to press the key next to the one that I am actually hitting - I’m not a swiper since I type faster than swiping. Both issues are annoying more than anything else.

Hopefully both are fixed in the next update.

Have found IOS 13 on iPhone very buggy with app crashes happening more. However, having used it love features like Swipe keyboard which I never understood the love for until now. Copy, Cut and Paste is much improved and much more.

The only real bug I have is my exchange email is not 100%. Some sync issues or receiving emails slower than other devices (iPad). But this was the case with the 13 betas and I think it was better in the 13.1 betas.

Personally the only issues I've had are in settings. I had a couple freezes when changing some settings but after closing it down and reopening they went away. I'm not really a "power user" though so there are likely more bugs that I'll never be aware of.

When I make a video and try to send it via email from the phone, the email app always crashes. I have to airdrop it to my mac first. Doesn't matter if it is a 720p, 1080p or 4K video.
