Well I had it with my Xs Max, and it happens with my 11 Pro Max as well. When it happens the grays become brighter, light grays.
This has nothing to do with the greyscale. This is about true blacks turning grey instead of black. Very noticeable in dark scenes in movies when watched in a dark room.
 
After I download Big Sur full installer to have a copy, I will get to 14.3 beta 1. Although I would like to read the release notes first. Nothing on the dev portal yet, waiting.
 
iOS 14.3 Beta now available. Still not seeing OTA tho.
