Going into phone book than selecting txt crashes the phone book. You have to go into txt app and select the context to txt? iPhone 10xs Max here!!
Anyone else have this issue where it crashes out of phone book when you select txt?

Just tested that on a 11 ProMax and 12 ProMax.
I was able to select a contact in Contacts and initiate a text message. No crash.
Maybe a 10X issue?

Is anyone also able to confirm if the weird lock sound bug is fixed? When you put a MagSafe case or a MagSafe charger on the iPhone 12 it glitches the sound when locking the phone.

For people who’s phones are still under warranty: Does installing 14.4 (a non-public Beta) void your warranty?

No, but it may make it difficult to have your phone serviced at an Apple store if you have an issue. If you do have to do this, best to restore to the current version of iOS if possible.

Serious FOMO for iOS 14.4 public beta. BUT iOS 14.3 is so good on my 12 I wouldn’t dream of changing it. But 14.4 has to have improvements even on 14.3... ? yes, no, yes, no, why can’t I stop even if I know it’s a worse version ?

Do a backup, upgrade to 14.4 and don't do another backup. If you decide you don't like it after a day or two, DFU the phone, put 14.3 back and restore your backup. Anything not in the cloud over those two days will, of course, be lost.

I believe Microsoft has gone native. After my last update of Office everything is way faster on my M1 Mac Mini.

The battery in my iPhone 12 Pro Max has been draining quickly since I purchased the device. There’s a 105 page forum thread on apple’s forums full of people suffering with drastic battery drain on all iPhone 12 series phones, especially whilst the phone is on standby.
Some users are claiming that iOS 14.4 beta 1 has helped but not much. There seems to be issues with the Qualcomm modem causing fast battery drain on iPhone 12’s/12 Pro/Max.
Actually i asked, because in the 14.3 RC I was having such an impressive battery life ,really, but since I updated to iOS 14.4 beta 1 is literally horrible

Can you not just download 14.4 ispw, hold alt, select it using the update software button in finder, Don’t do a back up. Then if I don’t like it, repeat above but with 14.3 ipsw???

not sure if anyone else has come across this or not, but perhaps 14.4 is the update where Apple is going to be requiring apps to ask to track with a dialog box?

Mostly that will work but not always. I have often reverted to an earlier point release using the equivalent Windows iTunes shift key with the update button or by using iMazing. However there are times when it hasn’t worked. Presumably because of a change in iOS structures. So it is worth keeping an old backup somewhere. Either on the PC or in iCloud.

Not everyone has a PC or Mac though.

Maybe. Sometimes going back a version doesn't work. It should, but if it doesn't work and you decided to save a few minutes by not saving a 14.3 backup then you've no choice but to revert again to 14.4.

However, 14.4 is fine so my guess is you'll upgrade to 14.4 be happy :)
