I’ll be the first to say it it looks like iOS 14 isn’t doing too well with battery life on my SE 2020. I haven’t changed any of my settings from before the update but in the span of 30 minutes I lost 8% battery.
All I was on was Health, Settings (to look at what’s eating my battery) and Safari. For some reason Mail is now always running in the background and I can’t figure out how to stop it.
Almost none of my apps background refresh.

Ok. I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary last night and I was watching a few hours of Hulu. It’s on the charger now and it’s charging quick.

One way to put a halt or slow down the background activity is to employ low power mode in your control center. I would suggest trying that for a couple days and see what it does for your battery. I use it even when it’s above 80% ;)

Can't really make a call on my battery yet but I've seen maps using more activity in the background ever since updating tp iOS 14 even if I don't have the app running

Yeah, my battery life is being crushed right now. But I agree sometimes it takes a day. I also turned my phone off and back on again after updating and it’s not getting hot anymore so I’m optimistic.

After installing ios 14, my battery has drained pretty fast. I have it plugged in and it was at 28%. I checked it after 15 minutes or so, and it was at 32%. I checked it again a few minutes later and it was at 31%. checked a few things, and the battery went to 28%. I restarted the phone and the battery went to 31%. I checked it about 20 minutes later and it was still at 31%! So now I'm searching online for battery issues and maybe 5 minutes later I check and the battery is at 28%. It's been plugged in the entire time!! WTF?

Edit: Still plugged in- It's been almost 10 minutes since I posted, and my plugged in iphone is now showing 27%. It's plugged in but is acting like it's not charging at all.

My phone didn’t get hot. When I had the charger plugged in it charged fast. I have the SE2020 and mine seems to charge decent with the stock charger. Today it seemed like it charged quicker.

I just have the stock Apple one which doesn’t seem to do much. I saw my maps had the background refresh turned on after the update. I turned it on and put it on low battery mode and it still hasn’t made a difference.

My typical daily usage on my XS is 5 hours SOT is 4.5-5.0 hours with around 40% battery usage. Today I was at 3.5 and used 60% battery. Noticeable change.

It has been fantastic on my 11 Pro Max, sitting on 27% right now:

Not seeing much difference between this and iOS 13.7 in terms of Battery Life, I thought the widgets would suck battery but nope, all good.

I’m getting the best battery life I ever had with my 6S, and I purchased the phone back when iOS 10 was still a thing.

The catch is I installed an iFixit battery. Two of my Apple-certified replacements crapped out, and I suspect the 6S had a subpar battery design from the factory. YMMV.

Add me to the list of people who feel their battery life has actually gotten better with iOS 14. One note, I did upgrade my devices while they were charging and left them on the charger for a couple hours afterwards (in hopes of avoiding the battery drain while iOS re-indexed).

Mine too. Back to 13.7 for now. Got back about 1.2 gig memory too on my iPhone when I reinstalled instead of installing over each version.

WHAT THE HELL!? I just charged my iPhone SE (first gen), 93% battery capacity, last night to 61%... woke up today after 7 hours of it IN AIRPLANE MODE, in LOW POWER mode... and it's 31%!!! 30% of the battery just ... poof! gone!!

oh right, it's "working on things in the background"... huh fanbois? ;) nah I get it... that happens... but I've never seen it like this.. IN ANY release! what the hell is this?

and my apple watch? watchOS 7? ... perfectly fine battery life.

😩 BTW, before this iOS14... it would drain maybe 4% AT MOST at night, during that time. .... This is upsetting.

I talked to Apple Support today and opened up a case. I just wanted to leave some feedback and see what’s up I installed as soon as it was released and I’m still have this days later.
They recommended turning it off and back on again. So far that hasn’t seemed to really help. They gave me a case number and said if it’s still doing this Saturday night/Sunday to get back with them.

I am not trying to create flame fires, but I just upgraded my iPhone 7+ to iOS 14. I love all the new features, but my battery life is horrible. I know usage is higher when just upgrading, but I have never had usage as high as this update. I took it off the charger at 7:45 am and went for a 40 minute walk. When I got back my battery was at 71%. I did not use it during the walk. I had calls coming up so I charged it to 100% when I got back and took it off the charger at 11 am at 100%. I did not use the phone for calls, and at 3:15 pm my phone was at 32%. It shows Photos as 26%, Google as 14%, Stocks as 10%, App Store at 8%. I opened Photos for 2 minutes and closed. Google I searched for 2 things and left it. Stocks I opened at 9:45 am after market open and never used again. App Store I checked for updates, had none, and left it be.

I am now charging for the second time today since I have to go out later, but this usage is insane right now. Hope this settles down. I restarted several times today so I don't think that could be it.

I did notice after the updated NONE of my Bluetooth devices worked even though the phone showed they were connected. Several restarts and I got my AirPods and Apple Watch to connect. Took a reinstall to get Blue Tooth hearing aid connectivity restored. Ugh. At least they do seem to be working now.

[UPDATE 9/20/2020]
If anything my battery life is getting worse the longer I use iOS 14 on my iPhone 7+. Its Sunday and I am charging my phone for the 3rd time today. Up at 7 am phone at 23% at 10am only answered texts and opened weather channel. Restarted phone and charged it. Around 12:30 at 100% and went outside to do some watering using Taplink automated watering. Its sets timers and and be closed. Sent 3 texts. Went out for a bit. Phone was getting hotter and hotter in pocket. got it out around 30 minutes after taking off charger. Phone at 59%. No apps running. Battery life shows Google using battery at 28% and News at 27%. Restarted phone, but I never opened either app, and they were not running. At 5 phone down to 23% and News at 39% and Google at 31%. Again not using either app.

Used TapLink several times during day. It shows at 1%.

This is a serious issue for me at least, I have never seen battery usage like this. 90% of the time I can go to bed with my phone at 40% or more every day with no recharging - before I installed iOS 14.

Definitely worse battery life. I'm seeing drain even with minimal use of the phone. When plugged in overnight, it shows Mail being used in the background, but I have no accounts in Mail except a Google account for calendar only.

My SE 2020 was sitting at 50% and went down to 25% in about 3 hours, all I did was answer a few texts.

I restored to 13.7 and it seems my battery life is back to normal now.
