Hey everyone!

So I've been having the wireless charging issue since the initial betas were released earlier this year. I was hoping they had just disabled during beta for performance reasons or whatever but unfortunately it seems that it is not working in the GM release either.

Are you all experiencing this issue as well or is it something specific to my phone?

Iphone 11 pro Max running iOS 14 GM

Thanks for your insight!

What specific issue are you having? My iPhone X has been wirelessly charging fine using most of the betas and the GM in an Anker charger.

Yup i have the same issue with couple of my wireless charger pucks with my iPhone 11 Pro/max, however works fine with XR and X which is odd. I have wireless pucks and stands all over the house and noticed the cheaper ones no longer work. Ended up replacing all the pucks with choetech wireless chargers and all working.

No problem here using a Samsung wireless charger. Neat feature in iOS 14, it can now change the LED charging indicator on the charger to let you know it's done charging.

I've been having issues off and on for over 8 months (been running iOS 14 beta since beta 1). My problem is that randomly, it will simply stop wireless charging. The charge icon doesn't show, the charging pad doesn't show a light indicating charging. Seems like it's software related too, because it won't work again until I restart my phone. It's too early to tell for me yet. I'll have to give it a week or two without rebooting to see if it's still holding up...

I just updated to iOS 14 (never used the betas) and instantly had an issue with my wireless charge (Logitech Powered). The phone will charge for ~5 mins and then it will stop. The indicator on the charger then blinks rapidly, which according to Logitech means it "detects a foreign object between your smartphone and the charging surface" (I'm using a stock Apple silicon case). The light keeps blinking for several minutes and eventually stops. At which point I can repeat the process.

I tried it without the case and it seems to work normally (not sure if it's going slower or not, though). I also tried another phone still on iOS 13 and it also appears to work normally (in and out of case). Could iOS 14 have reduced the reception of the coils in the phone somehow that the charger thinks there's an obstruction from the case?

I updated to iOS14 yesterday, never used the betas.

I charged my 11 Pro yesterday on a Samsung wireless charger, and WOW the indicator light now changes to green when the phone is done charging! This feature was previously only available via Android devices.

Is this a "hidden" feature of iOS14, or have I just not been paying attention?

My iPhone 11 on new ios14 as of yesterday is NOT wirelessly charging. Worked perfectly on 13.7 as of yesterday. Last night I put my phone on the same anker 7.5w pad as always and phone did not charge last night.

Just checked now and charging indicator works but phone does NOT charge.

EDIT: Rebooted phone and it now works :) Wish I would have tried that from the start! Sorry for raising any unnecessary alarms.

I haven’t had a problem with wireless charging throughout the beta process. I’m using an iPhone SE 2020.

Yeah it started working on the iOS14 beta. I remember the first time it went green and was pleasantly surprised. That was one thing that kind of bugged me about using Samsung chargers with Apple.

I just updated to iOS 14.2 and have the exact same problem as you. I’m also using the Logitech POWERED wireless charging stand. Tried disabling optimized battery charging but it has no effect on the charging process, which still stops every now and then. Without the case it seems to work fine, too.

Has someone figured out a fix for this?
