Apple today during its WWDC keynote unveiled iOS 14, which includes a Picture in Picture mode for viewing video within a moveable frame while doing other things on your iPhone.

With Picture in Picture support, iPhone users can now watch TV shows and movies while navigating elsewhere on their device.

The implementation is similar to Picture in Picture on iPad. Users can be swiped to the side and the audio will keep playing while the video remains hidden.

This might be the feature that brings me back. It there was a universal "back" gesture, with pip and widgets being added, I'd switch in a heartbeat.

This makes me so happy. Most of the time I'm fine just hearing video and want to check email and messages, etc. This could maybe switch my daily carry from iPad mini, iPhone, MacBook to large iPhone and 11inch iPad Pro...

The conversation to Android is now complete.

Closer but not complete. Still missing things like placing home screen icons anywhere, VP9 codec, background multitasking, freedom to install/run apps like emulators/torrent clients/Kodi/etc.

Wow!!
I’m super surprised that Apple is allowing the 6s iPhone to use iOS 14. The phone will be 5 yrs old by the fall.
The A9 was such a powerful chip, nice to see that lifespan.

aaaaand iOS14 will last until Sept/Oct 2021 for that iPhone 6S, which gives it a 6 year latest iOS support track .. and who knows, could be getting iOS15.
