HFP prompts have audio dropouts, delayed audio start when using Apple Maps, Google Maps, and Waze Maps. This issue was not present with iOS 13. I did a factory reset on my iPhone 7 Plus and a factory reset with my car audio system, still the HFP prompts have the issue. The only workaround for this issue is setting the car audio to use bluetooth as an audio source. Is anyone else's iPhone have a similar issue with iOS 14 HFP navigation prompts?

Yes, I have the same issue.
with iOS 13.x I had the same issue but only with Apple Maps. Reluctantly I started using google Maps and that worked correctly. I hoped that iOS 14 would fix Apple Maps but instead it broke the other app.

I already did give feedback. A configurable delay would be nice but it should be in the OS or every app needs to implement it.
It seems that when Apple updates protocol implementations they forget to keep a backwards compatibility with older devices that can not be updated.

This is a IOS 14 issue, I confirmed today.
Apple sent me a new iPhone 11Pro to replace my IPhone 11 Pro I was having connectivity issues with cellula.

I tested the old phone with IOS 4.0.1 and then with IOS 14.1 and had spoken audio drop outs in the first few words in my 2015 4Runner and 2014 FJ Cruiser.
Then tested it with the new iPhone 11 Pro with IOS 13.6.1 on both vehicles and the map audio was perfect and back to normal.
I updated the new iPhone to IOS 14.1 and the spoken audio dropouts returned.
Also note if playing music audio (Pandora or Music on you phone) through you iPhone to you radio, the map audio works normal.
Hope they fix this soon.

I encounter that problem, too and reported it via the feedback assistant.

Anyone got a solution to fix it in the meantime?

There are Some changes in Bluetooth functionality in 14.4.
But this issue has not be fixed.

Yeah it is not fixed again... I guess they won’t fix this issue. I missed the old days of apple.. Too bad!

I’m on 14.5 (18E5199a) and it’s working for me.
Hmm, that's weird. Same iOS version (18E5199), tried navigating with google maps and sygic today. With both apps the beginning of audio is lost using hfp.

Any tips for me?

Do you have the issue with apple's maps? I'm guessing it worked for you before iOS 14.

Apple maps didn't work too. But luckily I found the solution: After forgetting and reconnecting the bluetooth device, everything is working great (again). :)
