Hi

iOS 15.5 has been buttery smooth. I thought upgrading would slow it down. But it hasn’t. It is not as snappy as iOS 10. But good for a old phone (iPhone 7 plus 128GB). (The phone upgraded itself to iOS 15)

However for some reason charging the battery takes AGES. I timed it on the standard charger and a iPad pro charger (12w) and it took around 8 hours to fully charge.

The battery also drains really fast, drops from 100 to 60 in under 15 mins.

Battery health is 97% since it upgraded itself to 15.5. It is a brand new battery. On iOS 10 battery health was 100% and lasted a long time. Charging took around 3 hours.

20w fast charger does charge it really fast. But not sure if it is harming the battery in the long term.

Is anyone experiencing the similar issues with charging?

Thank you

I would suggest there is a physical issue with the battery itself from what you describe.

Something is definitely wrong. Have you tried a hard reset? Seems like there's a rogue app stuck in the background.

What's worked for me is force closing closing all the apps, hard reboot and shut down the phone normally after for a full minute and then powering it back on.

There’s definitely something wrong. Using the 5W power adapter, charging time should be 3 to 4 hours, possibly 1 to 2 hours more in hot conditions. The fastest/shortest charge duration should be about 1.5 hours. These figures are for charging a nearly depleted battery.

The battery also drains really fast, drops from 100 to 60 in under 15 mins.
Some tasks can drain the battery very quickly, including but not limited to Web browsing. However, that does seem like an abnormal rate.

Apple original/authentic?
