I’m just waiting to hear if the first direct app in the UK still works. And if it does I will jump on the public beta train and blame you lot if it’s a massive cluster fook!!

The FD app was updated today so you may have reason to be hopeful.

Not sure if it broke anything but this beta fixed at least 2 of my issues.
Fixed the ipad icon count. Back to 6x5
Fixed the crashing issue I had when trying to enable the beta firmware on my airpods pro.

Same thing was happening to me with the Airpods Pro. Looking forward to trying the fix when I get home.

I swear the animation when you open an app, in particular how the home bar appears, has changed. It flys in and settles at the bottom of the screen rather than fading in.

As the Contacts widget didn't work for a while, and now it's working I don't really like it, I have shortcuts that run a menu for some contacts. One of the options is to FaceTime them.

I've been using these shortcuts since iOS 15 b1. For the first time, after installing b5, I got a privacy pop-up asking me if I wanted my shortcut to be able to make a call.

I don’t know if this was in beta 4, but you can now choose if you want to completely disable spatial audio head tracking or disable it for music only. I know in 14 and previous 15 betas, it was just an on/off for the whole feature.

When you click on "i"nfo for a recent call, the after viewing select "Call" icon, it just sits and searches as if it is hunting for "Phone".

Notifications from the Messages app are using the contact’s nickname, despite the fact that I have “Prefer Nicknames” toggled OFF.

After doing some googling, I guess there was an issue where Message notifications weren’t showing nicknames at all in Betas 1-4, and that’s been fixed with Beta 5.

However, that “fix” broke something else. Reported.

That’s cool, I have always thought the head tracking is annoying when listening to music.

After updating I opened Photos and recived 2 popups. One I expected, the other not so much…


Considering I do not have a Apple Music subscription nor do I use it, what is this doing in the middle of Photos?

Kind of look like Apple is trying to figure what else to sell me …

Try playing games where it keeps staying on the screen and put your thumb over it and see how much better the screen looks, there is no need for the bar for years we have learnt how to use the phone it’s in the way, I’m not saying by default but give us an option

Tried that, my thumb was a LOT more obnoxious than a few pixels at the bottom of my screen. 😉

On iPadOS with the Magic Keyboard as the primary input method (although i suspect other keyboards will have this issue) autofill is behaving oddly.

If you use autofill to log into a website upon initially clicking into the login box Autofill will pop up correctly, however if you tap a “stay signed in” checkbox then go back to the username/password box Autofill doesn’t then pop up again meaning you have to enter login details manually.

Due to the way autofill works if you simply click the prompt when it initially pops up it automatically hits enter for you signing you straight in and therefore missing the checkbox for staying signed in hence why you need to click it first and therefore the pop up not returning is an issue.

Same with SMS verification codes, some websites like Amazon allow you to click a check box to not need a verification code for this browser and if you click that the pop up for the SMS code doesn’t show.

This has been an issue on all beta’s since beta1, this has been reported to Apple so hopefully they sort it.

I have all the privacy stuff turned off in Mail and yet the app still doesn’t load content. I have to tap load content in each email in order for everything to show up.

Yeah this is happening to me too, with the privacy stuff on OR off. It’s really annoying.
