This is me right now but I'm wondering how friendly this would be on the PC. 1Password has 2FA and can automatically copy those codes to the clipboard and paste them which is a huge time saver.

And, we must not forget one thing. If you disable iCloud Keychain on all devices, say bye-bye to the stored passwords. I learnt that the hard way and that was when I moved to 1Password.

Really? I would think its data is part of your iCloud account

Omg yes

even better to know older devices like mini 4 will get the authenticator as well

It would be cool Apple let you migrate accounts using iCloud backup or something. Google Authenticator only recently made it easier to migrate the accounts to new devices, but it's still not very straight forward.

So bye bye 1Password app?
I just logged into icloud in my web browser on a PC and there are no passwords at all there, what am I missing? Without that complete no go.

Edit; apparently if you get both a chrome extension and the icloud for windows app you can accomplish this. Meh, most decent password managers manage this with the extension alone.

This is another good addition to help with user security. Hopefully this helps more sites move to Authenticator apps instead of texting or email codes.

No, it's not.

iCloud Keychain uses iCloud to move your keychain entries around, but it doesn't actually store a complete copy of the keychain in the cloud forever.

For example, you save a password on a website. The (encrypted) password goes to iCloud, and an internal push is sent to all your devices. Once all the devices have received the new password, iCloud deletes it from their servers.

This is a GOOD thing; it means your keychains are never complete on Apple's servers. It's also why you need to enter the passcode or password from another device when enabling iCloud Keychain; that password is required to decrypt it.

They are next on the kill bill!
Why? Just because you are apparently unhappy with this latest feature doesn’t mean squat.

Keychain has been around for honks and 1Password is still around - and works in tandem with Keychain.
