There's more to this story... I have an iPhone 6 Plus (but will finally be upgrading to an iPhone 13 soon). It's stuck on iOS 12.5. I upgraded my iPad Pro to iPad OS 15 today, and suddenly the weather app on my iPhone 6 was 'factory reset' - all of my custom locations were gone! I was left with local, Cupertino, and New York. I've heard there were issues with the weather app on iOS 15, but for my iPad to affect my phone like that is very strange! Yes I'm sure the two are related, due to the very close timing (and never having an issue with the weather app on my iPhone for years). Anyone else have a similar experience?

Nope. But hardly sounds like a big deal - how many locations did you have saved?

Um, yeah... that's the big deal, LOL. Every place I've traveled around the USA and the world. I've met people all over the world, and I check the weather before I contact them (phone, email, text, etc.) just to have one more thing to talk about. I live in Southern California - we have one season, LOL! Calgary gets brutally cold. Parker AZ gets brutally hot. Vegas? Yeah, I visit often. I have friends in Kyoto & Tokyo, and compare the two often. You get the idea... I had to scroll... before today. :(

there are easier ways to get the weather in a place than having to swipe through a hundred locations in the weather app. :)

I was just coming to post this - you're not alone or crazy!

iPhone SE running iOS 12.x
iPad Retina running iOS 9.x

In addition to a Mini, I picked up a 9th gen iPad yesterday, and set that up last night, so it's on iOS 15 (the iPad, I haven't touched the Mini yet)

I'm not sure if it happened right away, early this morning I opened up Weather into my location but I didn't check my list. A few hours later I decided to check a location I am going to in a few weeks and like you, all my locations were gone.

In the grand scheme of things, this isn't the worst that can happen, but I certainly worry that something else may disappear.

(Coming from iOS 12 on an iPhone, it took me awhile to figure out how to get iOS 15 iPad out of Cupertino weather)

Update: I got the 13 Mini going last night, that one has ALL my old weather locations. The only difference is that earlier in the day I had added one location back to the SE. It had been at the bottom of the list originally. On the Mini it's now right under my current location and the rest show up in the same order the SE used to have.

The SE is still missing the locations, except the one I re-added.

It keeps happening to me - every time I customize the weather app on my iPhone, it gets reset to factory default again. Wasn't a problem before I upgraded my iPad to iOS 15.

I haven't changed mine since last week, and I also turned the old SE in.

But I see that location I had added back in, that went to the top, is now at the bottom where it used to be.

I haven't made any changes on the iPad since that first day, to set to current location instead of Cupertino.

Weather app isn't even working for me on iOS 15. I just get a blank screen.

I have this problem also....very annoying!! I havent even turned on my device that's on iOS 15 and the weather locations on my iOS13 phone still keep going back to the default cities!
