How about the ability to add loyalty cards.
I’m in the UK but have a lot more loyalty cards in my Apple Wallet than I do in my physical wallet now. I have three different supermarkets, three coffee chains, Ikea, a pet store and several others all in Apple Wallet. Not sure why retailers in the US are so behind.

Is this really not obvious?

Fraud prevention. Paper certs without a picture are ripe for fraud as they are a magnitude easier to forge.

Just this week US CBP intercepted a shipment of fake vaccine cards.

Requiring two pieces of ID to be checked by a person who was hired for a service job adds friction, delay, error, inattention, disinterest, perfunctory review, etc.

Most folks making the review (restaurants, cinema, etc.) will prefer not to be the heavy and will prefer to get onto their primary business function.

this is why many countries won’t accept the US paper vaccine card.
In the UK our vaccine proof is a QR code generated from an app or webpage (can be printed or used as PDF). Then the name on that can be checked against the passport which has a photo on it.

Hardly any gas station pump readers even support chips on cards. I usually just go inside and pay with Apple Pay, if it's available then it's inside and not usually at the pump in my experience.
Using a mobile phone is still not permitted on a fuel station. Forecourt as it used to be thought a spark could be generated. If you want tap to pay you need to go inside.

I've actually seen a couple of pumps more recently supporting tap to pay. As far as it not being permitted due to sparking concerns, I feel like static is a much bigger risk and I don't think everyone discharges their static before fueling every time. Not to make too many assumptions!

Yeah I think that has been debunked, but in the UK at least most fuel stations still have notices prohibiting their use.

Reactions: mansplains
Just a quick question. In King County, Washington (Seattle) the sheriffs department is now recommending that you do not leave your registration in your car and that per WA state law you can store it on your phone. Does anyone know if you can store the registration into Wallet? Or does anyone know of an app, besides Photos, that would allow me to do that?

Thank you.

You’re correct on the static electricity as being the bigger danger. Look at all of the videos of fuel island fires and they have one big thing in common: the driver gets in the car gets out of the car over and over then straight to take the nozzle out and not touching the car roof or something metal to ground yourself.
