It changes in small increments.

So they don't accidentally deafen themselves while trying to move the AirPods around or while trying to do something else with them.

I apparently had it off by default and it worked turned it on and it worked turned it back off still worked 🤔🤔🤔🤔

The volume swipe looks very useful. Wish my AirPods 3 had it.
