Family sharing in photos has been a mess for years. I want one large shared album where our family, as they take pics, are able to allow them to be stored/shared in that folder. This way after an event with my immediate family I don’t have to create an album every time to share with my family. It’s not intuitive currently.
This feature is supposed to solve that. I'm not sure how well it works right NOW, but I have the same situation as you and I anticipate Shared Library being the solution. (Still not without some effort on my part, but at least less than the current situation.)

"- Key sharing enables you to securely share car, hotel room, and other keys in Wallet using messaging apps such as Messages and WhatsApp"

Anyone know if "other keys" includes your HomeKey? I just got a Schlage Encode Plus and as it stands, there's no way to share my HomeKey outside those listed as part of my home. I'd hope this would be included, but it's strange that they don't specifically state "HomeKey" in the list of keys.

I hope they add albums to the iCloud Shared Photo Library soon. As it is right now, it is more of a stream than a library. (and Shared Albums don't give you the original resolution photos)
So the RC stills doesn't sync your album/folder structure when you move your personal library to the Icloud Shared Library? Unbelievable ... I have 60K photos organized into hundreds of albums and folders. It took years to organize it. When you lose this structure if you move your personal library to the Shared Library, it's absolutely useless. :-(

I think it keeps the structure on your personal phone, but the other users who have access to the Shared Library can't see the albums and folders you have created/organized.

I have a graphical bug on 16.0.3, that has been present since 16.0. Notifications appear on the lock screen as sharp rectangles for a short second, before they turn into the usual rounded rectangles. I am not on the beta program, and I hope that this issue is fixed in 16.1.

I've started seeing this too... very buggy rollout, especially considering there's already been three updates to 16.0

I’m still on 15.7 with all of my applicable devices. Looks like it’s going to be there for a while yet. That’s okay. There isn’t a single feature in iOS16 that I find myself wanting.

Hi,
I got in touch with apple support today, they mentioned that your existing folder/album structure will be available for other icloud shared photo library participants as well. They said it will be visible for the other participants exactly as you see it now (in your personal library) as it will keep the existing folder/album structure. The other participants will just be added to your library. Is anyone able to confirm that?

This is not my experience. I was hoping to share my 78k/650 album library with my wife, but she only sees the photos, no structure which is a big disappointment. I just did a test share of the photos in a Test Album and the photos shared but not the album. There is no mechanism for adding albums to the Shared Library, only adding photos. Each user of the shared library has to create their own organisation of folders and albums.

I really hope I am wrong about this...if I am please tell me how to do it!

Same here. I cannot believe they released this feature ignoring albums, folders, smart albums.
Sharing tens of thousands of photos unstructured is simple useless. I don't know what are they doing at Apple. Aren't they using their own products?

My first reaction when I discovered this was like yours, but on further reflection I can see that there is an argument for not sharing organisation in some use cases. I think it is a situation where a choice would be appropriate.

If starting from scratch (not trying to share an existing large organised Library) the participants might not want the organisation chosen by the owner.

Personally I think most people will feel like you and me.
