I think soThat is so much waiting. Is the Beta version stable enough to use?
Agree with you but don’t you think that is going to drain the battery life?I was really excited about the lock screen widgets. But there is barely any space for them. I have about 5-6 widgets I would like to use, but can only get 2-3 in with the meaningful info I want. I'd like Apple to open up an extra row or two.
Mid December??!?! Oh god! I’ve been waiting for freeform app to use in college. The year will be half over. Guess I’ll have to go buy endless paper… So irritating everything is delayed these days.
What does it matter the size of the widget, if it’s running all the time anyway?Agree with you but don’t you think that is going to drain the battery life?
I think she was responding to the idea of having somewhere around twice the widgets on the lock screen (quantity versus size), which could potentially mean more of a hit to battery life. I for one have noticed better battery life after getting rid of lock screen widgets altogether. What does it matter the size of the widget, if it’s running all the time anyway?
I’d love to just have larger widgets. Why does it still have to look like an “iPhone Lock Screen”? Why can’t I put a large analog clock, a calendar that’s at least twice the size of what’s currently allowed.. there’s so much potential. Seems like a good start, though.I'd like Apple to open up an extra row or two.
Both 2021, and 2020 software release occurred Dec 13, and Dec 14. That means very likely Monday Dec 12th for the current beta cycle. Been posting that tidbit for awhile to anyone that asked.I'm curious how Macrumors is able to estimate that mid-December would be the next release
ahahah. I hope not. I noticed that iPadOS 16.1 doesn't have ads, yet (or at least it didn't seem to last time I looked).16.2....now with more ads!
Week of the 26th? Aren’t they off until the new year by then?If Apple does not release beta 2 next week, then it is safe to say that Apple is on a two-week schedule.
Based on the release notes, iOS 16.2 Beta 1 is on the "E" build. Thats roughly 5 weeks if Apple chooses a 1-week schedule which would be the week of Nov 21st for release candidate. Week of Nov 28th for official Lauch
if Apple goes by a bi-weekly beta schedule, then the release candidate is the week of Dec 19th. Week of the Dec 26th for official launch.
Keep in mind that I am referring to iOS 16.3 ONLY. iPadOS/Mac OS could have their own release schedule as previously stated by Apple due to the delayed launch of iPadOS 16.
Or use one of the umpteen other whiteboard apps?Mid December??!?! Oh god! I’ve been waiting for freeform app to use in college. The year will be half over. Guess I’ll have to go buy endless paper… So irritating everything is delayed these days.
This reminds me I once used Google Jamboard in a webinar. Oh how I hated it.Or use one of the umpteen other whiteboard apps?
The joys of my job…I can play both sides. Not everyone else can.Well...simply go forth and find happiness with Google/Samsung!
Due to the way the widgets work, it doesn't drain battery life. Apps provide the data in the form of a timeline and the phone displays it. It's pretty conservative with battery life - it's the same system for watch complications and the larger home screen widgets.Agree with you but don’t you think that is going to drain the battery life?
If Apple is just like google and samsung, just why are you paying a premium for apple??? Just switch to another manufacturer and take the hate to their forums. Thanks so much!Apple and bugs are kinda just par for the course now (and been for a while).
I guess why are we paying a premium though if they’re just like Google and Samsung now?
Ah yes. Because Apple usually times their releases to cater to X or Y population need, right?Mid December??!?! Oh god! I’ve been waiting for freeform app to use in college. The year will be half over. Guess I’ll have to go buy endless paper… So irritating everything is delayed these days.
