Everybody that I’ve talk to online and friends that use them for their corporate office say to get to one primary and one back up. It looks like Apple also hints/says it requires two as well…Thanks, I will check these out. I notice it states you need two on the Apple (and related) websites, but all videos point to one being used. Some suggest keep one at work and one at home; if that is the case, any idea why we need two?

One to carry with you and one to keep somewhere safe. I bought a key but didn't realise I need two for setting it up. I had seen recommendations that you should buy two but I hoped i could set it up and buy a second key at another time. Spend £96 on two keys this morning lol but hey it's the whole point of keeping my stuff secure. Thanks, I will check these out. HomeKit has been a problem for ages and really could do with a major overhaul, making changes to the underlying architecture to improve things. Oh, wait a second…HomeKit is still broken. Can’t invite my partner or accept invitations since iOS 16.2 and this new update has not changed that.
Can't see them becoming too common that everyone carries them. Most people still use the same password for everything or don't even know what their password is. Even the people who take their online security somewhat seriously will at most use a pw manager and only enable 2FA with sms/authentication app. Not many people will go out and spend £90-100 on a couple of physical keys. Most likely keys will still only be used by businesses or the few individuals who are really serious about security.I just did some initial research on security keys. I wonder if they're going to become a thing everyone carries around? Maybe we'll need to get airtags for them?![]()
If you Google for it you’ll find plenty of people complaining about the issue. I’ve had it for the past few months, the only way to fix it seems to be to turn off all offending location functions, which leaves my Apple Watch unable to track things like distance and speed while working out. This is the first I've heard about this. Are there any other articles or threads about this.
I’m a big fan of the Yubikey 5ci if I need it on my iOS device(s) with lightning.Anyone a suggestion which USB-C Security Key is the best option to buy these days?
Security keys don’t synchronize codes between them. The purpose of two is to ensure that if you lose one of the keys, you have a recovery method of the other key. Generally speaking, when working with physical security keys or passkeys (webauthn), they require a method of either synchronization somehow (in the updated FIDO standards for passkeys) or you need multiple physical devices (as referenced here). Thanks, I will check these out. Couldn't you have just got the 5C NFC or even the 5 NFC (USB-A)? They are cheaper and you could use the NFC on your Apple stuff.I’m a big fan of the Yubikey 5ci if I need it on my iOS device(s) with lightning.

I'm confused. Sorry if I misunderstood anything. So say I'm setting up both my keys with my Apple account, what happens? Does the "Key" go onto both keys and I can use either one at any time or does a "pass key" go onto one and a "recovery key" onto the other one?Security keys don’t synchronize codes between them. At any one time, you only use one key, unless that key is lost, you are on a different device, etc. Hope that helps![]()
I am not seeing them either. I saw a YouTube from someone that said all devices needed to be updated to 16.3. I've updated my iPhone, iPad, Watch and iMac, but still don't seen an option to update the home pod mini in the Home app.I am not seeing the temp and humidity sensors on my HomePod minis. Anyone see them?
