God this thread is ridiculous.

"HomePods are going to trash. Who is in charge here?"

Do you think graphics designers are responsible for HomePod firmware? If you do, you don't get to have an opinion on this subject.

"What's the point in these?"

Conforming to Unicode standards. You'd be the first to whine when someone sends you a message and you just get a blank square because your phone doesn't support modern Unicode standards.

Jesus christ people.

designers should make sure the microphone yellow dot on the 14 pro lineup does not get pushed to the left side of the battery icon while on a phone call but stay in the dynamic island, before they waste time with emojis. And remember that at Apple designers have had a say over engineers for a very, very long time.
Look at the charging port on the mouse and the ultra thin MacBook pros of the last 5 years that had to run throttled at 25 mhz to avoid burning down your desk.

So we can finally do this...

🪣

No! It's pronounced 💐 !

Guys…..guys. These are set by Unicode consortium. Not Apple. It would be a standard and simple update to get a design drawn, approved and uploaded vs a bug fix.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this is an intern teams job.

Seems like it’s a lengthy process and a lot of thoughts go behind it. Check this out!

"Unicode 15.0 includes 4,489 new characters, of which 20 are brand new emoji code points."

Who cares if more emojis are approved by the Unicode consortium? It doesn't make a difference if it's incorporated into iOS.

That's what iPhone users really want, more emojis... Says No One Ever, or at least many Adults!
Some younger people can play with emojis all day but many other adults have lives to lead.

The moose reads to me as a lobster at first glance. But I'm neither from the north or near an ocean. I think they should change it to a 3/4 view.

Also I'm surprised it took this long to get a ginger emoji considering emojis originated in Japan.

I’d like a way to edit the list of emoji’s to only show the few I seldom use.

Industrial designers, engineers and User Interface designers are not the same jobs.

Do you really think Apple only has about 6 employees, and 1 of them is doing design or something?

How can we be on a tech forum and people don't have even the slightest clue about how tech companies work.
