I guess I better install Norton then…

McAfee, obviously.

Seriously though Kaspersky did release a tool to analyze an iPhone backup file for signs of this infection. Kaspersky is constantly at the forefront of security news and research. Definitely strange right now considering they are a Russian company, with Russia’s current international situation (I realize they are no longer headquartered in Moscow but their history and ties to Russia are undeniable.) Not sure I would trust Kaspersky to analyze an unencrypted backup of my iPhone.

The FSB immediately after Kaspersky’s announcement of this released a statement referencing it and accusing Apple of assisting the NSA with a backdoor. Kaspersky was careful to distance themselves from it as much as they could but the timing is interesting.

Interesting security article here.
I have no doubt that US three-letter agencies have done all sorts of shady stuff... but any report coming out of Russia and its FSB probably should be considered full of falsehoods. Odds are it was their own agency that's been using these zero-days, and once Apple found out about the exploits (meaning the value of the exploits would plummet) the Russians figured they'd try to get a little more mileage out of it via propaganda.

“A kernel vulnerability …arbitrary code execution … may have been actively exploited…”

I miss the good old days.

Nowadays I have to spend an entire hour on updating my apple devices regularly every two weeks ?

I guess Apple’s Red Team is quite busy.

Chapeau to Objective See !

There has to be more QA on the Kernel, Craig.
Slow the F*** down for heaven’s sake and give us back the safe haven of Mac OS !

Let's see if they fix the delayed keyboard issue introduced in 16.4?

Nope :(

After update to 13.4.1, Safari no longer works with several financial web sites (no problem with Firefox). So far, no problems detected with non-financial sites, but have not yet tried all frequently used sites.

I noticed after updating my 14 pro won't respond to it "hey Siri" anymore unless I hold the side button. SMH o_O

Update: it did it to me again even though I turned it off and on again, no matter how many times I say "hey Siri", no response, side button works but after the side button it's not listening again.
Thanks Apple for making sure that iOS 16 is garbage before you release iOS 17 thus forcing us to upgrade to a beta in order to fix problems you created and won't fix on previous versions. SMH

My iphone 14 pro is draining a lot of battery after the update to ios 16.5.1, last night i left it at 100% and i woke up with it at 84% and this with wifi or data off or gps on, has this happened to anyone else?

Why weren't these patched with a "rapid" response update?

Is the "rapid" thing just an empty promise? An unused feature?
The OS kernel cannot be updated with a RSR, it needs a full update. There wasn't much point to releasing a RSR update for the Safari issue if they needed to get the kernel patch out anyway.
