It will be nice to just travel with my pro controller for long flights. Currently carry both pro and ps4 controller. I wonder how button mapping will work for local and remote games like X Cloud.

The only question is for tvOS. I bought Nimbus but it is waste of money to get an iOS only controller. Specially when I got my Nintendo Pro one.

Never had a problem with mine

Lucky. I am already on my 4th replacement. It’s especially bad on Mario kart. I would be in a battle and suddenly I’ll keep getting the „disconnected“ pop up or my character has a life on its own and it keeps drifting towards the right of the screen. I think it even has a term? „Joy con drifting“ or something like that.

Joy con drift, especially for the left controller, can now be a thing for my iPhone as well, lol. All joking aside though, this will be terrific especially for those with Pro Controllers.

I also have the nimbus controller. Too be fair I’ve had it since 2015 so it’s served it’s time. However when I got a switch at the start of the year I was disappointed to find out that it wasn’t compatible with the switch. I have a third party one now which isn’t compatible with iOS and no doubt won’t get the update. I guess it’s time to get the pro controller.

My kids use the Mad Catz controllers with the Apple TV (which were cheap and really good), but unfortunately those are discontinued. They also have a Switch, so this will be really helpful for us.

I expect to see lots of iPad/iPhone docks for these coming out in the near future.

Now just jerry-rig them to the sides of your iPad with a bit of duct tape and hey, you got yourself a Super Switch™
I know you’d be kidding, but even a taped joycons would make any iPhone a Super Switch. Switch was outdated before it was released. I mean it’s good for what it does, but I feel with Nintendo it’s always maximum profits, minimum effort. If there wasn’t for their most popular game series they’d be long out of business.

Cool but these pieces of 🤬 hardly even work with the Nintendo Switch well enough haha
Would you mind ellaborating?

You're literally the first person I read complaining about Joy-Con "even working well enough". I've read about Joy-Con drifting, but "even working well enough" is a first for me.

I'll wait.

So maybe for tvOS too?
I really hope so! I have been reluctant to buy one of the supported controllers just to try some of the Apple Arcade games since I already have four Switch Pro Controllers.

Would you mind ellaborating?

I got the first batch at launch, and they were practically unusable.

Nintendo did issue a fix pretty quickly though.

Well drifting = does not work well enough as I basically loose in every Mario Kart tournament because of that. My character would suddenly develop a life on its own and always drives towards the left or right side of the screen or on Animal Crossing, the character would start walking on its own

Yeah, as expected: it's a non-issue.

Move along.
