Tried it out this morning. I find it odd that notifications show up with the Heart icon on the phone and Medication icon on my watch. I set the notifications to Persistant to be certain it would not go away before logged in . I'll have to wait until tomorrow to see how that works out .
Yes, you set it up in the Health app on the iPhone, but it's the Medications app on the Watch.

Long gone are the days when one could expect any consistency from Apple.

Having manually entered all my meds and set up times etc, not a peep from either iPhone or Watch to remind me to take them. Maybe I've not set something, but it's all a huge faff to try and make use of this latest feature.

Works fine for me . I didn't do anything special. Are your notifications On for Health ?
In the watch app on you phone do you have it set to Mirror my phone ?

Yes and yes. I need to let it run for a few days to get a better idea of what it's doing and what it's not doing.

I have restarted the iPhone, but that did not fix the lack of camera support. Not tried the Watch yet. I'll do that later although I doubt it will make a difference.

I can’t seem to figure out how to get the notifications on my Apple Watch.
I only see them on my iPhone.

Anyone know why?
In the watch app on your phone do you have Mirror my phone checked ? That's how mine is set and I get notifications

The Medication reminder in Health is something I was looking forward to trying because for a few years I have been using Medisafe. I was just at the point of subscribing to the paid version for a few extra features when I heard Apple was including this feature in iOS 16.

Sadly its a bit of a letdown. Medisafe provides for repeat audible notifications for scheduled medications as well as a prominent missed medication notification on both iPhone and Apple Watch plus a "Dont forget to take your medications with you" at a nominated time, eg. just before leaving for work if that is before your dosage time.
Lastly, it allows you to record medications as "Taken on time" if done later than the notification or "Taken now" something the Apple version does not. The Apple version only records it as taken now, even if it's an hour after you took it.
The annoying thing about this is that the Health app will not allow input data from Medisafe which would solve the whole problem as it does with a number of other 3rd party Health apps like HeartWatch, SleepMatic, Water Tracker, Pillow etc.
In Apple's defence this is probably an issue for the developers of Medisafe to tackle. Having said all that I would be happy enough with the Reminder app if it had a better notification system.

In fact, in Health.app you can log medications taken at any time, not just 'now', but it is a faff. I would like the simple 'taken on time' option to save me from having to mess around selecting the exact time it was actually taken, rather than simply 'now', i.e. when I was able to record it on the device.

As seems so often the case, Apple decide they want to be seen to be providing something of value, but aren't too concerned about how much 'value' they really provide.
