It literally has nothing to do with the lidar scannerI'm surprised they allow the XR to have the feature. I was expecting this to be exclusive to devices with the lidar scanner.
Apparently. I thought it uses the 3D data to isolate the subject. It literally has nothing to do with the lidar scanner
I understand this type of functionality in editor because you can fix cutting errors, can you do that here though? If you haven't wasted days of your life trying to cut out people or objects in PhotoShop, then you never will truly understand the hype.
You can use it on any picture, not just pics you’ve taken. I’ve isolated people out of pics I’ve just downloaded online.Apparently. I thought it uses the 3D data to isolate the subject.
Tell me you've never had to manually mask in PhotoShop without telling me.😏Seems useless, don't get the hype around this
It works for me in Live pictures (iPhone 12 Pro). The Copy & Share options only appear to work for pictures that have Live turned off.
I'm bumping this because I stumbled upon this thread looking for the same information. How can I take a lifted subject and put into a new photo, so that the subject is on a plain white background? This is awesome!
Now what app out there will let me take the subject I extracted and paste it into a new background?
Obviously, I'm asking for one that isn't subscription-based.
A reasonable one-time fee is okay, or even one that shows short advertisements.
So far I've tried it out with Canva , good but not great .I'm bumping this because I stumbled upon this thread looking for the same information. How can I take a lifted subject and put into a new photo, so that the subject is on a plain white background?
By the way , I use the free version of Canva..So far I've tried it out with Canva , good but not great .
I'm looking for something else too . Any help will be appreciated 😉
I'd like to know that too ;-)Any way to paste the isolated subject into another photo?
Only that one works for me also .The ability to paste a lifted subject into another photo seems like a no-brainer. Other than Canva, is there currently a way to paste a subject? I've tried using a couple photo editing apps but it didn't work.
Which one ? Pixelmator or Pixelmator Photo ?I found a way, on an iPhone, to 'paste' a clipped subject into an existing photo! Pixelmator. Just like with Photoshop or Pixelmator Pro on macOS, the user opens the bottom layer photo then adds another image as a layer, i.e. the previously clipped and saved subject. What's really cool is that, just like with full-fledged image editors, 'effects', i.e. focus blur, can be applied per layer.

In Canva I can do the same for free without the effects thoughPixelmator. Use the link in my previous post.
Thank you. Went to see how much it was and realized I already own it, just needed to download it. Works great!Pixelmator. Use the link in my previous post.
