Pretty much, it doesn't. All devices in question need to be on iOS 16 for it to work.

Was really hoping Apple would finally introduce the ability to schedule sending a message. You can schedule a message using shortcuts, but it is an unnecessarily complicated and extremely un-elegant solution. Add on to the fact that you an schedule a single message, it has to be reoccurring (i.e. schedule a message to send at 1p on the 1st of every month or something), so if you only want to send a message once, you have to remember to delete the shortcut after the message was scheduled to send.

There's always next year though! ;P

Editing an iMessage!! Wonderful! Also ability to recover deleted iMessage is good.

So if someone sends an offensive or threatening message to another person can the sender completely erase it or is there some remaining record that the person who received it can show to law enforcement?

Still no RCS...

I used to wonder why Apple wasn't supporting it, but after recent events (mainly RCS users getting blasted with ads so badly that Google had to disable it in an entire country) and finding out about its lack of end-to-end encryption for the vast majority of users, I understand.

It's pretty frustrating that they aren't updating Messages on older devices with this, as I'm sure the vast majority of technical work on this involves the server side anyhow.

I really wish they'd divorce very critical 1st party Apps like Messages from the specific iOS releases
