Can anyone report on if there's much of a performance drop from iOS15 -> iOS16 on the iPhone XR?

I just want to make sure I don't make my phone super slow by upgrading, sometimes that happens. Thanks!

Wondering the same thing... Backing up my Xr in iTunes... Unsure if I'm gonna pull the trigger on 15.7 or 16.0... 🤔

My XS does not feel much different than iOS 15, but the XS has slightly more RAM.

Not sure if I’m gonna upgrade my XR yet, but if it works anything like iPadOS 16 on my 10.5 inch iPad Pro I likely will.

It’s not the official version yet, so I’m going to ask about the most stable one, iPadOS15: how was battery life on iPadOS15 for you? How many hours of screen-on time were you getting?

Wife’s XR seems to be alright. She’d let me know if there was a problem since I’m the one that makes her update 😆

I pulled the trigger and just updated to iOS 16 on the XR, after a few hours of usage, I'm honestly not noticing any slowdown or lag. Kinda impressed. That's just my early experience, so take it with a grain of salt!

I use the iPad almost all day, and usually still get at least 7-8 hours from battery. Bought it used at a garage sale so not sure how it was used before so think that is pretty decent.

Thanks! I expected worse honestly, Apple forced my 9.7-inch iPad Pro from iOS 9 to iOS 12 and I went from 14.5 hours of screen-on time to barely scraping 10. I read reports that iPadOS 13, 14, and 15 each subsequently worsened it. Obviously, it depends on usage, but for a device that’s 5 iOS versions in, 7 hours doesn’t sound too terrible (as long as they are 7 hours of screen-on time, and not 7 hours of usage mixed with standby).

While 7 hours is not iOS 10-like, I think that considering the circumstances it’s decent. Like I said, I expected worse.
