So anyone thinking that a 3rd party password manager is running the risk of obsolescence?
No. iCloud Keychain isn't cross platform. I need Bitwarden for cross platform since I have alot of stuff on my work Windows PC. Unless Apple makes an extension for Firefox, I don't see that happening.

They might. Apple already makes iCloud Keychain for Chrome and Edge on Windows. It's not out of the realm of possibility.

1Password , bitwarden etc are in a hole other league then apples.
Apple are not there yet and will not be for some time

I believe the issue is that an app has to be installed via the App Store for it to ever be granted keychain access, and Firefox (the only browser I use) doesn't install that way.

I also use Bitwarden because of this and the fact it's better than keychain for filling in passwords. You can define which fields on any site it auto-fills, and I use this for one site that requires three pieces of information, and my home router which keychain refuses to recognise as having a password field.
