The listing on the Apple Store app makes reference to 16.5 for Find My.

There you go 👍🏼. Could be today then, just depends on this “zero day” bug fix I suppose.

They could still sell the headphones on Friday as promoted and then find my would work on the Monday release, “if” they needed more time to squash bugs.

It’s not like it’s new that some products have had wait times for full functionality with Apple.

Doesn’t need 16.5… not seeing your strong correlations to this product 🤷🏽
I wasn’t the party that associated 16.5 to the Beats Studio Buds + webpage, with availability is Friday. All I did was point out a possible correlation to its launch with chance of other products with some of the things Apple started to announce earlier this week. There are multiple posts such as this one and this one about that.

I don’t think we can look to past practice here or conventional wisdom on when 16.5 will be released. Although it’s trite to say it will be released when it’s ready, It is also true.

For that reason, depending on (A) how serious the problem is that’s causing the delay (likely pretty serious) and (B) what constraints Apple has to get 16.5 out (in my opinion, unless there are significant security updates, the constraints are likely not as significant as they would be for releases tied to product introductions), I’d say any weekday between now and next Wednesday would be fair game for a release. There is simply no way to tell at this point.

As I am in the zero day camp, I find it interesting that Apple will have faced two significant software delays during iOS 16 due to such issues. I suspect the geopolitical climate in which Apple is operating may have something to do with that.

We also should look at the same with MacOS 13.4 RC, RC2, RC3. There is something related between iOS/IPadOS 16.5 RC, RC2 that possibly could be geopolitical (interesting choice of words) versus security justifications. Encryption falls under geopolitical IMHO.

I do believe today is the day, although an odd Thursday release.
It’s not a stretch to say that any working day this week or next it could occur. :D

Between multiple RC’s and usual days Apple releases there is higher chance next Monday to say that is the day, with Friday likely also based on how the week is going, or even your guess which would be nice to happen. At the very least it’s not a dull week to ponder when this will conclude.

Eh! Ive just seen you talk a lot about Beats since Tuesday in multiple posts from 7,229.

Was just pointing out it's not that heavily tied to 16.5, just for Find my.
Minimum requirement seems to be 16.4. 👍🏼

Can only assume with the end of the week drawing closer, this is going to have a knock on effect on 16.6 too. Although I have a hazy recollection on Apple releasing a beta and a public release on the same day.
Yes, I feel like that's happened before too, and on more than once occasion.

So will this thread. An excellent way for (some) people to get their post counts up by talking utter nonsense for post after post after post after post .

I speculate today for the next bug-ridden sad excuse for a software update.

What are you going to do IF these stubborn bugs you have had since whenever, haven't gone in iOS 17? 😬

Genuinely hope they will go and you become happy again with Apple 😆😂🥳
(I feel your frustration)

Out of interest, have you had these bugs on multiple devices as you've upgraded?
Setting up as a new device hasn't fixed?
And also, what have Apple said when you've called up for phone support?

Some have existed since iOS 14, watchOS 7. Out of the 17 bugs I have raised with Apple they have fixed the grand total of 1!!! They have even acknowledged and been able to replicate a number of the long-standing ones, promised fixes only for nothing to materialise!

This is across new devices, existing devices, set up from scratch etc.
