I don’t understand the point of the spotlight button. It’s easier to pull down from anywhere in the Home Screen as we do now, than to tap a specific button. It just seems like clutter.
It's probably just an awareness thing. I know dozens of people who have no idea Spotlight exists, and if they do, not how flexible or useful it can be.

New flexibility at Apple. You can turn it off.

Has Apple given any further explanation on the "Quick Note" function that's on the splash screen? I assume it would be similar to how it works in iPadOS already?
Apple explains it on their website under the "All New Features" section. You bring it up when you're in the app by using the share sheet button, which seems dumb to me. Or through Control Centre. There is no gesture like on iPad.

Anyone else have an issue with Spotlight Search on Home Screen not working? Even though I have it toggled on in the setting menu it doesn't appear on the Home Screen of my iPhone SE 2002. Funny that it works fine on my iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 mini models. Go figure! I filed Apple feedback on it.

One of those nice Appel features that are for some reason not available in all countries, like South Africa... We also do not have the feature where it tells you what plant or dog is in your photo. Or on apple tv, we can't use Siri. We don't have fitness+. The list goes on and on. None of these features make sense to be country locked...
