Apple quality is just trash now days, the number of follow up releases and fixes is insane and don't recall this issue under Jobs. The Tim Crook Apple is just focused on subscriptions, isolated medical advertisements to sell more Apple Watches (again praise Timmeh), and this new Vision Pro headset. Which I have a lot of concerns over the quality of that. It's really amazing how buggy it has become for such small upgrades that apple has made to the OS lately. And Siri is still an absolute joke.

Not touching iOS 17 with a 10 foot pole. I let others be beta testers for unfinished software.

Apple software development feels like Linux in the 2000's. It's the RedHat iOS!

Unfortunately the new hardware does not ship with the previous OS, wish it did at this point.

Out of 100 people who will really be journaling? Maybe 10.
According to some statistics, as of recently the Gmail app has about 24-28% usage on the iPhone.

For a journal app to be used by 10% of iPhone users? Impossible.

The app would probably be considered super wildly fantastically successful if 1 out of 1,000 or 10,000 use it.

iMessage notifications and distribution problems are pretty bad right now.

Sometimes no notification at all, sometimes a Mac will get the message but not iPhone, so on and so forth.

Could be iCloud, don't know, don't care, it's becoming unreliable.

What a joke. iOS is getting buggier and buggier. I’ll upgrade to it but won’t be touching 17.2 until 17.2.3 lmao
iOS can (insert vulgar saying I recently coined). The only reason I’m not ditching iPhone for Android at this time is my car doesn’t support Android auto. BMW was late to the Android auto game. Interest rates are too high to trade right now, plus the car isn’t that old. I’m not gonna get a new car just to get a new phone.

No more new stuff until we get an IOS that just works. A big bunch of bloated software that may be nice to have for some. I would love to see the usage numbers on all these new features. Most of them are just plain annoying.
Agreed. I hate the contact posters. I wish I could turn them off. Period.

I get that iOS is now complex, and that new bugs will appear from time to time. But I don't get how things that used to work properly stop working. I got a reminder that I'd left an Air Tag at home (my bike - which I'd left at home because I'd gone out by car). In Find My, the 'remind me when left behind' option had been toggled ON by software. So I switched it off again. A couple of days later, it's back. Never happened on iOS16. Every few days I get reminded that I've left stuff at home, despite telling Find My NOT to tell me when I leave those things at home.

Try clicking off a repeating reminder in the iCould web app. All the repeats disappear too. Destroyed by GTD system in minutes, and took ages to rebuild. I almost had to to back to OmniFocus which, for all its faults, has never corrupted any data.

The Weather forecast used to be OK, now it's rubbish. It tells me it's sunny when it's cloudy (not the forecast - NOW), raining when it isn't and predicts ridiculous temperatures which are out of line with the local meteorological agency forecasts.

The Watch sometimes charges up to only 80%. Not optimised charging, where it's supposed to do the last 20% just before you need it, but not beyond 80% - leaving me with single-digit battery levels in the evening and afraid to even use the Watch.

The alarm complication on the Watch sometimes shows 'no alarms set' when there are.

I could go on......

Has anyone been having issues with GPS drifting by 100 yards or so? Happening on both my wife's phone and mine in all GPS apps. Started maybe a month ago for both of us (dont remember if it was after a particular update) and has made navigation unusable. Constantly redirecting as it thinks im on some nearby side road. Was hoping to see that its a known bug that will be fixed but outside of a few reddit threads, not seeing much on dedicated apple related forums.
Haven’t seen that but since 17.1 Find My has been slow to update our locations. Girlfriend asked me yesterday lunch (with surprise) if I was back at the country house (we left late Sunday evening). What? I opened Find My on my Mac and sure enough, my iPhone was showing still at the country house despite being on the desk in the office. I rebooted and it was back with me.
