Can someone confirms while open FaceTime app that the microphone and voice options are visible in the Notification Center even without mailing a call?

Is anyone having trouble updating to RC I’m getting this error.

“Unable to verify update” iOS 17.1 is temporarily unavailable. try again later.

The servers were perhaps hammered and that's why you were getting that response.

I’m not sure that’s accurate. There may be screen burn in issues that are not present in the newer phones.
plus, doing AOD at full power would result in burn in

My phone has an LCD screen; never heard of them having burn-in.

What about those who use their phones for hours at a time during the day; do they get burn-in? The standby clock could shift a few pixels every minute or so if they were worried about burn-in.

Burn in is on OLED only

even on my tv sets I never had burn in and we’re talking about 4000 use hours

Oled panels have become way more robust compared to the new ones from 5-10 years ago.
This shouldn’t be an issue anymore, but if you watch specific shows for hundreds or thousands of hours with very bright and static logos, for example, it still can be an issue.

Hmm…. folder suggestions when moving an email in Mail.app gone again? Is it just me?

Update: Reboot fixed it… 🙃

This update appears to fix some 'hardware' issues where Apple support/the genius bar was unaware of what's happening and swapped the devices or sent them in for service 😬
Something that isn't mentioned - This fixed a super annoying Apple Pay issue I was facing on three iPhone 15s in a row where the phone would stay stuck on 'Hold near reader' and not communicate with the terminals. Apple support was sure it's something related to the Secure Enclave and a replacement is needed, but that wasn't a solution either.. Wonder why they aren't mentioning that this is resolved with this update anywhere in the release notes or with a statement like they did for the image retention problem. Perhaps not to create confusion with the 15 Pro issue with the BMW wireless charging where the NFC actually dies because they have been silent about that. A new and annoying bug it introduced is auto brightness being buggy and not allowing me to adjust the brightness manually. I have to fight an unresponsive slider to stop the automatic adjustment or lock and unlock.

That’s the thing with so many bugs, only because there is no personal experience with it, doesn’t mean that the bug is not existent.
But it also make me wonder what their usage pattern is that makes the bug happen for them but not me

You must of downloaded a bad update. Go to your settings> general > iPhone storage and delete the update file it should be iOS 7.1. After you do that go back to software update and download the file again and it should work.

It can be usage pattern, or specific apps that cause an issue but often there is no discernible reason for what causes an issue on a specific device. I’ve had several that I could find no reference to on any site or forum yet were fixed with a subsequent ios release…who knows? Currently one serious issue, there is an ongoing thread about it, is that some of us cannot sync our phones to our macs since ios 17. I have a 15PM and from the moment I got it activated I noticed this. Finder ”sees” the device and I can make a backup with no problem but syncing always stalls out whether connected by cable or by WiFi. The only way to get a sync to actually happen is to disconnect the cable from the device when the sync begins to stall and then plug it back in which will trigger an actual sync that then completes properly. That also means that syncing over WiFi is impossible since it’s the cable disconnecting and reconnecting that triggers an actual sync.

Not many have reported this but enough for it to have its own thread, and reportedly not fixed in this final release.

Since updating to the RC on both my iPhone 14PM and S9 Apple Watch, my Apple Watch seems to only update notifications and such wirelessly or via Cellular, as opposed to mirroring my iPhone. I'm clearing Notifications on my Watch, but they don't clear on my iPhone..

Anyone heard of Enterprise Wi-Fi issues after updating to this beta?
