Starting with iOS 17.2 and watchOS 10.2, Siri can access data from the Health app for health and fitness queries, according to Apple's release notes for the updates, which are currently in beta. For the Apple Watch, this functionality is limited to the Series 9 and Ultra 2, as these are the only models that support on-device Siri processing.

For example, Apple says users can ask how many hours of sleep they had the previous night, ask about the progress of closing their Activity rings for the day, or ask about their blood glucose level if they have a connected monitor.

Macworld shared examples of supported queries:
  • How many steps have I taken today?
  • How many steps have I taken this week?
  • What's my heart rate?
  • What's my blood oxygen level?
  • Check my Exercise ring.
  • How does my Move ring look today?
  • What's my average walking heart rate?
  • How many calories have I burned?
On the Apple Watch, health data is limited to the previous week or so.

Siri is also gaining the ability to log data in the Health app. Macworld shared another list with examples of supported queries:
  • My weight is 195.3 pounds.
  • I started spotting today.
  • I've taken my 6 pm medications.
  • My body temperature is 98.5 degrees.
  • My period started today.
  • My blood sugar is 143.
  • Record my blood pressure as 118 over 76.
This functionality must be enabled first to work. On the iPhone, open the Settings app and select Health → Data Access & Devices → Siri, and then toggle on "Access Health Data." On the Apple Watch, open the Settings app and select Health → Apps and Services → Siri, and then toggle on "Allow Siri Access to Health Data."

iOS 17.2 and watchOS 10.2 are expected to be released next week.

Wow! this is a funny coincidence, because a few hours ago I thought "If Siri could tell me how many steps I should take today to accomplish my daily goal, I would ask her without taking my phone out of my pocket"

so Siri never had this basic functionality oh I see it for newer watches typical apple

It clearly states "on Apple Watch". They don't send sensitive data to the cloud for processing and the latest two Apple Watches are the only ones which can process Siri "on device" so it stays local.

Reading the article before commenting helps a lot.

Doesn’t work for me.

Siri on the Watch says “I can’t help you with that but you can try in the health app on iPhone”. Siri on the iPhone just pops up a button to open the health app.
And are you running the latest developer beta??

“ Hey Siri, I just had unprotected sex.”

Interesting times we are living in to be able to have interactions like this with your phone, and for it in turn to “intelligently” know to add that as a data point in the Health app.
Siri responds: “I know, I was there.”

Yeah but…they could still just send it to the phone like they do with, you know, all those other Siri requests.

Not working for me in the UK either on the full 17.2 release. I really am tired of people and sites in the US not mentioning when something is only available there as if they are the only country in the world, this article and people on YouTube couldn’t be bothered to mention that important detail, like so many times before.

Well, this is pretty useless. Making a Siri request on Apple Watch and asking how many hours of sleep did I get, the response is "Interesting question."

I don't see anything to say this is a USA thing only but it's not working for me either!
Can anyone with a UK language selected (not English United States) confirm it's working or not?
