iOS 17.4 Beta 1 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

Yeah... I know you can get them there (stickers menu). I was just pointing out that section, which worked before, is no longer working as designed.

I think this release was predominately in prep for the release of the Vision Pro headset and to set the stage for enabling some features required in the EU

I think this is right. Both of these things have had an outsize influence on the release cadence this year. If the rumors are that iOS 18 is going be big, I wouldn't expect much from 17.5 either (which should have a public release in late April/early May).

I had delete everything and set up as new because of a CarPlay problem. With all the set up, in Finder when I connect my phone it says that I'm using iCloud Music Library. I want to manually update songs. Even if I turn everything off, it doesn't seem to be turning off. Ideas?
In Music app is says sync it turned off. I want to manually sync. Is that going away?


Edit: looks like I needed to restart my phone. 🤷‍♂️

Anyone else's Dark mode not auto-turning on/off with the Sunset to Sunrise schedule? I can't be the only one having this issue, yet I've posted multiple times in different online forums and no response. I've been on the iOS 17 Beta since it began, and only noticed this as of the last iOS 17.3 Beta, but not seen anyone else mention it.

My Night Shift Sunset to Sunrise schedule works exactly as intended, but not dark mode itself which I find very strange. For context I have a launch day 15 Pro Max.

For those of you reporting that stickers are not available in Messages from the emoji menu, check the stickers command in the “+” menu to the left of the composing area. I don’t have any recent stickers showing in the emoji menu but do have my stickers in the menu item.

Not sure you understand. They are there. They just don't show. The ones I created do show. But not the others. See my image. I chose the cow. But nothing is there. I can guess where to tap, and they do work.

Sends me crazy. Was happening periodically on the 17.3 betas & now running the public 17.3 & its still doing it. Most recently this morning & just an annoying bug that does not go away. I have reported each time via feedback app.

I’d all that have seen this to do the same.

I see what you are saying now. On mine, a “shadow” of each sticker shows up briefly and then disappears. However, I can tap in those locations and the sticker will be inserted. But I cannot drag them into the message area as I can do with others.

Its difficult to test the side loading while there are no third party app stores to add. Bit like testing the first ever telephone- who ya gonna call?

Surprised no one has mentioned that stickers are broken in this beta. They don’t display and I see blank space. If I tap on the blank space, the sticker that is supposed to be there does appear in the message. What a weird bug.

Has the bug related to the lags of the control center been fixed when you interact (open or close) with it at the time of automatic brightness change, as well as the flickering of the brightness and volume sliders in the control center (decrease or increase the volume using the buttons, and then change it through the control center, the same with the brightness when it changes automatically, and then you adjust it manually)?

There seems to be an issue with comment boxes on Safari with different pages. On MR, it messes up sentences and on others, auto correct or double tap on the space bar for a dot doesn’t work.

My 13P had that glitch during one of the 17.3 betas. It was absolutely infuriating for the week or so it lasted 'til the next beta fixed it. I can't believe they let that evil little gremlin slip back in the door!

Been reporting feedback to Apple for the past week. This beta build has been the weirdest/roughest for me:

Bluetooth connection issues with AirPods Pro 2

In-app browsers don’t seem to work - page just hangs, regardless of app

Screenshots are acting up - any changes/cropping isn’t saved - have to go into Photos and edit from there

Keyboard sensitivity is hit or miss

None of these were present in the previous build.

Ran into an issue with Safari and screenshots.

If I take a screenshot and drop into edit then crop, draw on or …, there is no longer an option to cancel or undo the crop change, even when you drop the menu. All you can do is delete or save.
